Well, WH Smith doesn't seem to carry anything like it any longer:

Still searching....

Newp, nothing.  Looks like custom fabrication is the way to go.  The funny part is that now that I've seen what the case was built out of of I can see the original and added parts easily.

Hmmmm, I have a feeling this isn't any average style of tote.  I'm also wondering why it has the door that drops down.  Considering that the files would hang and you would have access to them via the lid, what would be the purpose of opening the side.....

No, it's a pretty standard box.  As for the drop down lid, that's just a result of the construction.  It unclips from the side runners to allow this to happen, however, if you don't unclip it, the lid just lets the box to expand to get greater access to your suspended files.

A bit like this:

I wish I knew how to turn long links into short links.

You can use one of a number of online services, such as TinyURL.com
who will store your long url and give you a short way to get to it.
These days they will let you name it as well, so you don't have to use a generated code in the url.
Here's a demo which points to the forum's recent posts: http://tinyurl.com/tbf-new.
I was going to demonstrate with the link above, but your office direct session has timed out, so the link doesn't work :(.

It does shorten it a little though. Like its bigger on the inside ;)

Purple - that link takes me straight to the top page.  Can you post the product name or id code please?

Thanks Crispin for those links, I'll look at those in due course.

Regarding the link I posted, I wasn't aware they could time out.  So in the keyword search on the header page of that site, just type in "5 Star Office Expanding Box File 20 Pockets A-Z Foolscap Blue" and the image you'll get demonstrates the expanding function that I was talking about.  It isn't a link to a servicable box that could be used as a replica though, it's just a picture to illustrate a point.

Let's see if this trick works...

Can everyone else see the blue case thingy?

Interesting...   I can see we are going to have a lot of fun with this one!  lol!  Anyone have any particulars on any of the tools themselves?

This is a really brilliant thread, it's definitely inspired me to make my own.

Here's a question though...does anyone know what each of these tools do specifically?

(I.E. Master Drone Clamp, Laser, Pen Torch, Magnetic Clamp, Moog Drone Clamp, Universal Detector, Neutron Ram, Influx Booster Stabiliser, Stalos Gyro)

In other words, what is each tool's functionality?

Could someone let me know?

Well, lets see:

Master Drone Clamp automatically shuts off the TARDIS intercom sound when the Master starts droning on about taking over the universe.
Laser - obvious
Pen Torch - obvious
Magnetic Clamp - used when you need to clamp something to something too big for a C-clamp
Moog Drone Clamp - used to stop the incidental music when Dudley Simpson gets too carried away
Universal Detector - detects anything! very useful plot device that one.
Neutron Ram - used instead of a hammer when you have to hammer something that's behind a bulk-head as the neutrons can be focused through a solid surface
Influx Booster Stabiliser - Stabilises the Influx Booster when it gets unstable.
Stalos Gyro - a long-life sandwich from Greece that the Doctor keeps in the toolkit in case he gets hungry.

Sorry, it's been a slow Sunday :)

bahahahahahahaha thanks for that Crispin, that made my day. I really like the first one, The Master really does monologue to no end!

The screen used TVM toolkit and sonic screwdriver are now in a very good home with the console thanks to Phil Segal who decided that Paul S was the right man to share them with the fans - he was very impressed with both the restoration effort on the console, as well as how Paul was dedicated to sharing it with everyone at Gallifrey 2012.
