This is a total work of art! very nicely executed--I admire people who can construct with such precision ;)

Thank you for the positive comments!
Now that I pretty much have the color scheme narrowed down to two samples, I want to paint a larger piece of scrap wood to see how they look on a larger surface area.

Volpone

Good idea. Browsing the board, I saw your sample picture in thumbnail and smaller it looks a lot blacker than it does full size.  Change in scale may change your mind.

As an undergrad I remember a story from one of the people who were on the design board for the building I studied in.  The hallways were dungeon grey concrete.  The man pointed out that if you looked at a 2" square sample of it there was a great deal of color--yellows, reds, even some blues, in the aggregate of the blocks.  But when you stood in a hallway made of it, it looked "dungeon grey."

Best of luck on your color selection.  Chances are that you won't be completely happy with it when you're done but everyone else will think it looks amazing.  TARDIS blue is funny that way.

Base coating began today.
I'm really in love with the color as-is, but this first build is a Tennant style paint scheme, so it will look way different soon enough:

To be honest, it almost seems a shame to paint over such beautifully crafted wood!  :)

It is also sad to see that fine woodwork covered in paint - fortunately I took dozens of photos of each piece before paint began.

Still finishing base coating the remaining parts but had the itch to start aging one of the walls.
Only had time to do one pass with the wash on the right side as you can see, but this gives you an idea where I'm going with it:

She's coming alive!  So are you guys having a panel flap for cables and stuff to go through?  Or is it to be a pet door? ;)

generalfrosty

Yes, that is a cable access panel - good eye!

Well it's just like the Series 5 and upwards boxes. ;)

All posts are base coated, I decided to begin the toning/weathering glaze on the completed parts.
The backside of each wall and under the roof is painted flat black:
