Wow! I love studio pics, and these ones showing the 5Docs console under construction are excellent! :)

I particularly love that one with the..... um... (is it a lighting rig or a skylight, I wonder?). I like that we can see how thick the walls are :)

Absolutely Brilliant photos, its not very often we get to see these types of behind the scenes photos for the TARDIS. But very good reference photos. Wonder if there are any more of these types of photos for this interior or is it just the three here? I'll definitely be getting the Greatest Show in the Galaxy DVD :)

Its Gerry Anderson and the late Peter Wragg in the consoleroom, possibly from Thirty Years in the TARDIS documentary (even though Anderson isnt seen in the console room in the programme).

If you would like to see the images in context, click here for the thread.

I just came across this on Facebook.  The wall part looks very thin!!

I'm going to assume this is the 5 Doctors doors (I think they only painted the whole thing grey post that time).

If I'm wrong, I'll gladly move the post :)

Including the metal frame, it looks to be about 9" thick to me.....I'm intrigued by the green stain - mold perhaps? The wall appears to have been stored under a leaking roof (typical BBC)!

Mold? In places like that the mould is much darker - almost black - and in some cases in indeed black mold. And it wouldn't be in a running, spluttery pattern. Its shape would be more amoeba-like.

That shade of green looks more like what you'd get from old water dripping down from an old copper pipe and leaving that green resigoo (sic). Of course if the surface has enough rough texture to it to retain moisture, maybe some algae growth? I know from living in a humid climate that it doesn't take much for algae like that to start growing along the bottom row of those old asbestos shingles (yes my house is that old), and that growth is just from the build-up of dew combined with humidity.

But from the "splatter" pattern, I'd lean more on the side of green resigoo from the water and copper pipe combination.

I too got this off of Facebook.  I thought I posted it here, but maybe I forgot to.  I think it is the Five Doctors door.  Maybe this is why the set couldn't be used for Season 26?

It is clear the this door was used for the Five Doctors and on to the end of the series, but it was clearly used in the seasons before The Five Doctors as well, as it is the same doors used in Arc of infinity. (I'll check to see how far back these doors go with a quick look at my DVD collection. )

*edit - It is clear that these doors (or at least the wall section surrounding the doors - the doors themselves may have been reused) came into use for season 19 replacing the previous season's doors

These new doors were reused for the Mike Kelt Console Room.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Just found this on facebook, I suspect that one of you might get a better copy if you have the DVD of Warriors of the Deep ;)

Interesting discovery at least one of the meters has green leds.

Given the time period, I would guess it's likely a VFD, and not an LED display.

It is possible it was a Vacuum fluorescent display  ;)

I think they are LED, and don't forget Knight Rider was around at this time and KITT was full of LEDs and I even think he had a couple of vacuum displays too.

The question is what are the colours of the other meters on the console?
