Don't you just love those window-patterns on the ground when lit?!    My outside TARDIS has only solar lights installed so lighting is pretty weak - I'm so jealous of your plumbed-in power and those sockets!   Awesome work, thanks for sharing your photos!

As much as I hate snow, the stuff we had today did make things look very pretty...

and I love the way the snow collects on the window ledges

That's some lovely work. Oh, and bring back our snow!  We're having a snow drought.

I think all the snow landed in Vienna... I understand it's not usually this snowy for very long. It's been almost a week... Come on... It's not Helsinki!!!

Great work on the box btw. Hopefully the sealant does the trick, it's a great build :)

Absolutely, stunningly beautiful. Doesn't get any better than that!

I love this police-box! It's so very faithful to the Hartnell original, only thing I'd say if it had that darker grey/blue look-it couldn't be bettered. Love the window frames being white and recessing windows-superb!

It's actually based on the actual Police Box the Hartnell TARDIS was based on, hence the three-tier roof instead of two-tiers.

The best box I LIKE on the set! Did you buy your warrior Dalek from me? (Ealing)?

Not a nitpick, just curious:  Why'd you decide on making the door open inwards?

Because I couldn't bare to have them opening outwards... As much as I wanted to build a police box, its a TARDIS through and through...  ;)

I didn't know squat about police boxes--apart from Dr. Who and maybe an online article or two on Gilbert Mackenzie-Trench so things like the tinted pane in the bottom center and the glass phone box panel were bewildering to me initially so naturally my door opens inward.  Practically, since mine is a storage shed, I'm giving up close to 25% of my storage space because the door isn't authentic.  And if anything falls in front of the door, I'm hosed.

I'm trying desperately to find an excuse to build another box.  If I do, it may retain some TARDIS elements, but I'll go more toward a police box in spite of this and the reasons above, I'll likely have the door open inward.  Part of this is the same reason you gave but there is an argument in favor of simplicity too.  If the hinges are set up to open outward the door will be more complex.  I won't be able to use the lintel "steps" as a stop on the door opening, and I'll introduce more opportunities for water intrusion.  So I'll most likely stick with the inward door.

I was just curious if there were any engineering considerations of if it was largely a personal preference choice.
