Quick glimpse of a police box prop with flashing light in the Terry Thomas film "Make Mine Mink" (1960).
Interesting to note they've gone for a square lamp housing for this one...

Curious why they didn't mount the lamp squarely onto the roof!

It just goes to show that no matter how accurate you make a prop, it still doesn't look right if you make it from wood.  The edges are much sharper than concrete.

No doubt someone can put me right, but doesn't this look a lot like the Cushing box?

In that case, someone could put me right as well as the shape has a lot of similarities, it's just the texture that's different.

Well texture doesn't mean anything.  This prop was in service 5 years before the first Cushing Movie, so if it was used a few more times or was in storage, the director would have had it repainted/textured for the first Cushing film.  In the second one it became a lighter blue and had a bigger lamp installed.  Though the lamp on this looks HUGE.

Apart from the chunky roof and general shape, it's those skinny windows that put me in mind of the Cushing prop.

I rather like that big lamp.  It suits the box's more fulsome proportions and visually is a nice combination of the first two lamp styles seen on the Brachacki prop.  But yes, would have been nicer if they'd got in on straight, even for this fleeting glimpse.

Glad it's not just me that noticed the crooked lamp.
In terms of identifying this prop as being re-used for the Cushing movies, to my eye, the roof section has identifiable characteristics:

If someone can find a decent screen grab from either Dalek film, it ought to be possible to see if these same shadows appear on the Cushing prop.

Just easier to lighten the thing way up. ;)

Not sure what the piece in the back is sticking out.  But the front bits seem to be bad splices in the wood used.

For what it's worth, Make Mine Mink was made at Pinewood, whereas the Cushing films were made at Shepperton.

The New Avengers were based at Pinewood.... and they blew the Cushing box up!
