Before we began, we wanted to focus on creating a full set of architectural drawings for us to follow during the construction.
These plans were crucial for us to make sure everything would be made to exacting, superior standards.
Our goal here was to take an accurate design of the overall prop but implement a higher standard of construction, like a fine cabinet or piece of furniture rather than a static set piece.

Here is our base.
This is naturally the heaviest piece to our build. The base is the foundation and it is important that it be crafted to exacting standards as it will support all of the other components.
The posts will fit into the square holes and for added strength, will be bolted in at the base.
The base was also designed with uneven surfaces in mind. The support beams are raised in the center and we will be adding a level hidden in the base to accommodate any uneven surfaces when this makes it's tour to various events and conventions.

Here are our posts.
A lot of tooling went into these.
All four of these were joined together via our full-size vacuum press. Templates were made for use with the router for the surface details.
Each end of the posts were fitted with a "Shoe" which will easily and securely fit into the corresponding square hole in the base. All four posts have hinge attachments to latch the sign boxes on.
Once the sign boxes are in place and the posts are locked in, the overall structure is VERY strong and won't move an inch.

Really nice work - looks like it will be built to last too. Is this intended to be on display in the outdoors or will you have this as an inside prop?

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Wow! This puts mine to shame, and I haven't even built it yet!

Wow is the word!  I'd hang the base on the wall, simply lovely!

The sign box looks like it was made using a programmed CNC!

The roof.
This weighs considerably less than the base so it's easier to fit into place.
