why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Goodness, you're fairly motoring with this!

I may be excited by this project a little. I have been on this board, absorbing the information on the forum, admiring every-bodies work, and I've been collecting Tardis parts for four Tardis consoles only because I hadn't decided which console I wanted. I think I've now decided. (At least on my first console. ;) .)
I guess I just exploded into work. Moving fast, I built the mid section before I built the underside of the console .... and this basically means I'm about a millimeter off on measurements .... so I have to redo the mid section now. (sigh) when I am done I'll be glad I took the extra time.

Not quite sure how I've skipped past this thread...

This is really coming together. Looks great! Can't wait to see more progress on this.

Going back and redoing that central section for the sake of a millimetre shows true dedication...

Awesome stuff!

Kingpin

Coming along beautifully, seeing you working on the underside reinforces how they should've shown more of the prop's underside, as a lot of work went into all that detailing.

museumdave

AWESOME- JUST PLAN AWESOME!!!

this is coming together so beautifully.  I love the detail - the little corrugated bits on the underside of the console is great-  keep it up...
BRILLIANT!

Thank you guys for the awesome comments :D

I've had a lot of fiddly cuts I've had to perform - And I'm going to a wedding in the morning to take photos so I may not have time to work on this project till Sunday.

I decided to make a new template for the sides of the console.

Again I'm amazed at your patience and attention to detail! Having to re-cut those pieces for the edge of the console? I definitely would have gone mad if I had to do all of those fine cuts again! I admire your tenacity in wanting to get this beauty so accurate.

yeah ... many of those side sections have been created... I made six out of too thick a material, there are the six original that are too small and a few extras that I screwed up on - this current batch are turning out pretty well - I came to the conclusion that in my life I will make some mistakes from time to time - the idea is to let yourself fail, but keep on going. In the end I hope to have a good model.

I think your hands have earned a well-deserved rest! Magnificent job so far!

thank you guys.  ;)

Right now I'm working on a template for the next section

*edit - the template needs to be 6 and 11/16th inches wide

My goodness, there's just no stopping you! Looking forward to seeing the panels come together - at this rate, sometime next week!  ;D

so I've started to have some bad luck with the 1/7th model - first my hands were tired and so I left the project for a bit to let them rest. Then - I've had some supply problems as I haven't been able to track down the same Artist Board I was using before. I've tried various materials including plastic but none of them cut quite the same. ... and then I'm having some problems dealing with scale - it is extremely hard to cut this much detail out of a peace of card and hope for it to maintain it's rigidity.
