What I can tell you is the museum have it on a ten year lease, I am sure John Endicott the Curator knows something history wise about this box. I can make enquires next week and let you know.

Yes you are correct.

The evening news showed the interiour, thats how I got this screen shot, I have it recorded to DVD but dont know how to upload it to photobucket as its a large file and I cannot find out how to convert it

The damage to the base was done by the forklift, but it will all be repaired for the opening on the 10th Feb

A fantastic police box in a perfect location. The museum is the perfect place for it and what a treat for visitors and doctor who fans.

Hi everyone.
I am the Curator of the Kent Police Museum.
The box took some time to sit on the plinth, as the concrete lump underneath the box, was too big to fit nicely in there.
The box was saved from destruction by Ward Westwater, of the Civil Defence and Emergency Services Preservation Trust some years ago.
I don't know the location of where this box was in Glasgow, and I am not sure if Ward would know.
We opened today, 10th February, and have had 135 visitors today, many of whom came just to see the police box.
If you come to see the box, please make yourself known to me.

Hello there, and welcome to TR2... I noticed you'd joined earlier today, nice to have you along!

Ward's a decent fella, must be said, a real Guardian Angel for the Police Boxes... including now, happily, the Crich box, which of course is the last original Mk2 Metropolitan Police Telephone Box.

I'm delighted to see your new exhibit, and will have to pop up from Brighton to see your Museum shortly.  Hope you enjoy your time here, John!
