G'day all!

finally on holiday! WOOOHOOO!!!  Just read this thread, and thought i'd post up some images of my Perwee rotor, though I must stress that my measurements are not entirely accurate.  I didn't have a heck of a lot to go on, and I really only built it as a variation to my 5 Doctors one, i.e just for the fun of it!













These photos were taken when I was in the process of building the rotor.  I made the triangular rod by welding 3 thin lengths of pinky-orangy acrylic together...









My tubes were hand-made as the price of acrylic tube here in Australia is absolutely ridiculous!  the diameter is much smaller than the size you guys have mentioned.  They're only 3" 5/16 (85mm) as opposed to 4".  I wouldn't use mine as a reference though, as I said earlier, I didn't have much to go on - and I'm blind as a bat! The tube length is 500mm.

Willy, do a search for Jerrod's Console.  He's the one who's been making a 5 Doctor's Console complete with working column (with blue lights instead of red).

thanks, Bill.  Wow, that is amazing!  The 5 doctors console was my least favorite from the show, but this is beautiful.  I love what he's done here.  Blue is my favorite color, and I especially like the pics that feature the Pertwee rotor.  Just amazing.  I have yet to attempt building a console, but I understand that a working time rotor isn't easy to pull off.
I don't know how I've missed that thread.  Makes me wonder what other goodies I've overlooked since I joined tr2.

Do you have any good shots of how you attached the yellow and clear bits? I had some difficulty finding good references for this rotor when I made my 3D model...

I am pretty confident he did it the same way I did, you can see if you look closely.  You use acrylic glue,  its creates a small melt point where the tube bit meet.  I say that because mine has the same melt point his does.  It is also how he created his red Acrylic triangle.

I think you misunderstand me... I'm talking about the rod with the rectangles of yellow and white translucent plastic that run up and down it... A la pertwee... as you have made a Tom Baker model, you don't have them

Maybe I do have them and I didn't tell you,  so there ,  neaaayyyy.  Ok, my bad I see what you are saying.  I was curious about those as well.

Those HORRIBLE HORRIBLE RECTANGLES!!!!

I attached them using the same chemical - Weld-on 3 - which is a water-thin acrylic adhesive.  I rested the rectangle on the rod, and then used a cotton tip to apply the Weld-On 3.  When dry, I did it again.  That's pretty much it!

They are very fragile, and have been known to break off very easily.  Probably why they were disregarded when Tom Baker took over the TARDIS.

yaaayyyyy  I was right..whooohooo.  Ok on that same note, is that small hole drilled in each rectangle? It looked like you did?

I'm going to bump this thread to the top as I would like to see if this (combined with Marks Time Rotor Build) we can perhaps unify some accurate plans and sources for those attempting to build a classic Time Rotor.
