Good grief, not much remained of the "Land Rover Brake Lamps" by that time! :O

Found more cardboard tubes, this time "concrete forms" found in the bin. I will be able to make a couple of the larger Ionic Greek Columns for the Tardis Interior. These things are usually quite expensive to purchase - had an adventure getting them home - friends with a small car were involved.
Had to lock my bicycle at the college overnight.

also purchased some ceiling light tile to make the Recall Circuit indicator and other bits.

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Wow! There's a LOT of stuff :) You must be almost ready to get cracking with this by now?

I almost have enough for all the columns in the console room (at this rate I'll have it soon :P ) and just need a few key components to start work on my Time Rotor. Soon I have to actually start using ..... MATH ~dun-dun-da!!!!! and start drawing up plans and such.... but as said in my first post - I need to put in a concrete floor in my three bay garage, and a new roof, then paint it Chromakey Blue, add a lighting system and then I'll have room for a console room. - but that won't stop me working on the console when I have time off.  ;D

Yeah, I know ... I want to get started soon too.  ;)

BTW, why blue when you already have green?

Plus if you're making columns, aren't you making the walls? (sorry if I missed the answer to this already).

If you are Blond or light Ginger it is harder to chromakey because your hair doesn't separate from the background as well with a green background. And my attic green screen room isn't quite as large as I would like (you can't run very far before you're off set).

So if I need to build a second studio anyway why not try Blue.

*And Yes I do intend to build the roundeled walls of the console room as well.

Went to the local lumber yard and took some pics of some moldings that were close to the right size. for the switches. If this were the same molding from 20 years ago that is thicker we would have a winner I think.
Still this is really close. Not sure if it is big enough though.

took me a while to track these down - it was like there was a perception filter on these - I swear I've been in this particular Home Despot a dozen or more times but for the life of me I couldn't find them until today.

Those always seems to me to be small white dials with black screws in the center as opposed to large white lights.  Is this more of a design choice of yours?

My other choice was going to be those Styrofoam rings you often get as packing material with blank CDs / DVDs in packs of 50 or 100. I think the lights will work better.

I guess it is a design choice. I'm trying to imagine the finished product. I would like to be faithful to the original design - but on the other hand wouldn't it look nice if that panel lit up.

I can also add little nubs in the center of each light to look closer to the original.

*edit - looking again at the photos - the discs look larger than 22 mm I may end up putting caps to plastic bottles over the lights so that they have a larger size but will still show the lighting from below.

I think caps from Gatorade bottle might work.

you know, that gold square-ish thing on the right of the insert pic looks a lot like an upturned tray of Wiskas cat food
