Boy You are flying along in the-collection-of-wierd-stuff phase of the build.  This is awesome

I had been looking at a similar light on eBay that had a bubbled glass effect over it and a remote controle for my console, but haven't got it yet.

thanks for sharing your excellent progress

Printer

We have a small (and cheap) calculator that does a printed read out on a roll of paper... have you considered something like that for the tardis printer???

cheers

Many of the objects I have posted images of I have had for quite a while. I just haven't taken stock of them before. Though there are a fair few new acquisitions of late.  ;)

at present I don't intend to build a real printer into my console - it will be a mock-up. I want to make fan-films, so if I need a printout I'll probably have someone feed me the paper from the underside of the console. There are many phases of this console room plan. Right now I am in the Mise en place phase - gathering the ingredients - to make it look acceptable - at some point I have to move to the electrical side of things. And I definitely want to have the rotor rise and fall.

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

based on my posts of parts I have thus-far gathered together this much of the console remains:

I also found these at Target to add that certain something to my Tardis interior.

hey, just a thought on my part  :) If you cant find some of that stuff, you may have to make it yourself, also this aspect adds to the console being yours. Ask any of us on here, we will all say we had to make something on the console from scratch ;)

good looking stuff, wish I had some of it ;)

They'll be handy for beer reviews... :)

Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying seeing this come together.

Wondering what you're going to use for the "audio-unit" type bits at the top - I'd love to know what those were.

Plus the strange green transparent thing. You've got a great replacement - but what the heck was the original...!?

Great stuff!

@ TG5 - yeah I'm starting to have a good think about those.  ;)

@ Celation - I'm not sure which "audio-unit" type bits are you referring to? Maybe you could show me a Screen Capture.
my set can be found here if you want to have a look through : http://s1130.photobucket.com/albums/m531/ConsoleImage/
screen captures are organized by seasons on the right hand side

(also I never found out what that green thing was.)

Well, going by the modified console plan you've posted (which looks like the later Davison episodes' version, the last one prior to "The Five Doctors" console), I'd guess Celation is referring to these parts pointed to by the yellow lines:

AudioUnit.jpg
(This photo is from one of your earlier posts in this thread: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=2513.30. I just added the yellow arrows to indicate the "audio units" in question. Hope you don't mind.)

In the "Doctor Who Technical Manual" (and the "Doctor Who Weekly" issue that extensively covered the Hartnell/Troughton console) those oddly-shaped things are always labeled as "Audio Units". In the earlier seasons these were things that were flat and actually looked like some sort of speakers. As this version of the console evolved those "speakers" went from being flat bits to these raised housings with the sparkly reflective purple (sometimes red-looking) insets.

We've been trying to ID what they used for the housings of those. So far we've come up blank. I think Celation (like the rest of us) is wondering if you've managed to either ID the item used, or find something that looks very close to it, and let us know what it is.

Oooh those straw glasses!!! I have one of those from exactly that time period, and it's made out of (clear) glass, not plastic. I am amazed how well it's survived! :)

I plan to make those out of Card and Bondo <3 for what ever reason I just took them to be viewers of some kind. - Maybe make a mold and cast the rest.

*also I don't mind you using the images - I want the group to feel free to use them to help us Tardis builders wherever they may be. This group has always given credit to all the individuals who have added to the group, and that is just one of the reasons I like it here. ;)

In the previous version of this console in Logopolis, Tom leans over the "speaker" to listen to something.  In the last version of this console, in Terminus when the TARDIS was falling apart and was hooking itself up to the Terminus station, you can see Peter slide his fingers across the one on the panel with the door control.

I have a large piece of equipment I fished out of the University dumpster that has a useful Dial on it for the Tardis Console.

I have this IBM Typewriter Ball Element for my Tardis printer mock up.

I may have to rip out this ceiling tile to make my Recall Device indicator.

You don't often see this panel - I know that it was significantly changed for season 20 but I think I like the Black Ball and the Red Emergency Stop Switch.
So I may stray away from strict continuity for this panel.

For the Emergency Stop - Red Button I have several "Possibles"
#1 I found this bottle on the ground - the Cap looks cool.
IMG_1185A.jpg
#2 this Plastic thing may (once painted red) make the red stop switch.
IMG_1187A.jpg
#3 Wooden door knob

Next item with several "Possibles" - The Magnetic Field Detector Housing
122Earthshock0006greenbox4.jpg
#1 is an old ceiling lamp
IMG_1200A.jpg
#2 a cardboard cylinder box from Micheal's
IMG_1196A.jpg
#3 Packaging from a mixed nuts box.
IMG_1180A.jpg
IMG_1181A.jpg

I have to see which one of these looks best on the console when I start Putting it together.
