Sorry about that- I should have clarified how this came about.

I am probably about 4 episodes into the 2005 version with Christopher Eccleston. This is the extent of my Dr. Who experience, although I plan to keep watching as I love the show. I plan to watch some of the older episodes as well when time allows. In watching the show, I thought it would be cool to have a backlit Police Box sign over my closet doors and even style the doors after the TARDIS. After some Google searching I came across this site. I downloaded Deck's version of the Brachaki sign (loved the font) and was about to send it to the cutter when I realized that the font corners and some edges were rounded off a bit. I searched around for a good match for the font and using Deck's image as a reference built this version from scratch. I decided to register here in order to share the improvements in case anyone could use them as I don't believe in just sniping someone else's hard work. For all intents and purposes it is still Deck's version.

Back on track, in creating this sign the revision of "plans" that I have put the sign at 30.68" by roughly 4 inches tall (this version has the thick end caps on either side). Is this correct for this version of the TARDIS? Also, I would like to make a graphic that covers the entire sign to prevent light bleeding around the edges. Can someone please post or PM what the actual material size is including what fits into the framework so I can work that into my design as well?

Thank you all for the comments and Deck, thanks for your hard work in creating the original graphic for me to work from.

I might have saved you some trouble.  The slight rounding is largely an artifact of the vectorization; I have a sharper bitmap version here.

Deck,
  PM sent. Thanks!

No problem.  If you make a better vectorized version, please post it!

First of all, I would like to publicly thank Deck for his assistance in refining this graphic. I did end up making a few of my own design choices, but I think this is a good idealized version of the Brachaki sign. I have also added extra space around the edges to make sure the graphic covers the entire sign material to eliminate light bleeding (I left about 1/4" on each edge which should be more than plenty).

The JPEG is posted here- can anyone help me in posting the actual vector file please? Also, I can provide .eps, .pdf or .ai extensions- whichever is preferred. It seems that .pdf seems to be popular.

I've done up a TVM top sign, for the Hudolin box.

Here's a comparison:

The PDF is in the table in the first post.

I think the lighting on this box causes the letter forms to distort.

I adjusted for that:

But by all means, feel free to tweak the result toward greater accuracy!

Bill, I took my own advice.  Here's my second try.  PDF updated in the first post.

That looks much better.  I would suggest adding a 2 or 3pt stroke around the letters to compensate for the light distortion making them thicker looking and add a little more space between letters.

Like so?

Yeah.  Just enough air between the letters so they don't like like they are touching.

Thanks, Bill.  I've updated the PDF.
