is there nothing the ipad won't do?

there is a coffee house near where I live that uses one as a cash register - it has an attachment so you can swipe your card through.
Now this:

and it's wireless! - the days of Star Trek are here folks. You can walk around - maybe in a theater and mix the best sound for a production!

if I had wireless sound and wireless lights in my studio I could have this on a sidebar on my tripod and do the work of three men.

Interconnectivity begs the question can we make our Tardises work by remote control? What sort of setup could we use that would work with an iPad or a smartphone?

I remember reading that Scarfwearer has some wireless units in his console room - Maybe to operate the door or the scanner ..

for those of us who would like to make films it would be cool to make our props come to life on cue

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

I have a friend who uses a small smartphone (not apple) to control his media systems in his home. All done with Linux :)
