I too have thought that I would like to 'decorate' my home in a TARDIS fashion. Having recently been to the exhibition in Cardiff and seen up close the Tennant 'roundels', which are vacuum formed transparent panels ( thin as margarine tubs! ) sprayed to leave the light clear at the back, I have been wondering how the new Matt Smith 'roundels' have been made....Has anyone got any info on their make up or any high res pics of them?

Some of the walls are made by the same method I assume.  The sloping portions that fall beneath the console platform seem to be the same material sprayed with something like the old walls.  It also appears to have a set of roundels that are Fresnel lenses with wire frames.  And the planter buckets also... No solid evidence to contribute obviously, just observations.

You'll also find a link there to the source where you can buy them. Going price right now is 3.99 GBP each. So for about 40 GBP you could do up at least one wall with 10 bucket roundels. (Bucket roundels? Hopefully nothing like "The Bucket Woman!" - I live next to a real one of her. Ick!)

You could make it a general TARDIS lounge room. If you look in the Tom Baker/Peter Davison era, there were pot plants in some rooms. You could also have one of the wooden chairs that Doctors 1 - 4 had, a bookshelf with 'ancient-like' books, the hat stand, and maybe have some of the roundels open with motherboards and wires coming out like in Colin Baker's TARDIS.

I've got a few really old books already. I've even got a hat and coat stand. If anyone has been looking for a stand there are several available on ebay, with "Buy It Now" buttons:

If you are going to reference The Invasion of Time you should be aware that it was made during a budget crisis and a scene shifters strike so they were literally using any set they could find for the tardis interior as well as undressed studio space and some corridors in the actual Television Center building.

The season 10 look would probably be the most practical for a living space, the big fridgey units would be great for storage and you could put display shelves up behind the roundels.

You should think about how you want to use the space, lounge, study, hobby room, entertainment centre, etc.

Filming a swimming pool in the studio would be quite hard

In "ST:IV" they filmed San Francisco Bay in the Paramount sunken parking lot. I got to see that lot when I got a tour of the Paramount lots. (It was dry with cars parked in it at the time.) That sunken "parking lot" is only about four feet deep, with a layout similar to

Not sure how many rows it had (can't remember that), but it wasn't really that big: about the size of your average high school swimming pool, and yet they made it look like where Frisco Bay meets the Pacific, with a Bird of Prey crashed in it.

It's amazing what you can do with the right camera angles. (Now I wonder how many other scenes for other movies and shows were filmed in that sunken lot. )

So if you don't need the Pacific to film the Pacific, you don't need a pool in the studio to film a pool. I'm sure there are plenty of locations (schools and such) that would love to have a "Who" episode scene filmed in their pool; remember the pool scene in "School Reunion". ("A 'Doctor Who' episode scene filmed at our <insert establishment name here>? Think of the publicity!" would probably run through their minds - and location shooting is always an option.)

They did a run down on the new console. Funly enough they are plastic plant pots you can get from your local gardening center Go to the BBC - Doctor Who Website and look for a " Tour Of The TARDIS" Video. Runs down most of the TARDIS and how they made it there
