OK, here's a various shots of the finished product--mostly ones that aren't in the build diary:

Not a "beauty shot", per se, but The Dog had a squirrel treed so I thought I'd include it:

Trying to capture a photo with the solar lamp on. The neighbor's yard light cast a cool sidelighting on this that completely doesn't show up with my cell phone camera:

Frost/fog (Frog?) one morning made for a nifty image:

...and what gallery would be complete without the obligatory "TARDIS in the snow" shot?

Hi, how's it holding up to the weather, especially that snow :o

I do like the fact that in the world of TARDIS building there are no set rules apart from having an obligatory snow shot and one with a stepladder  ;D

Volpone

Hi Mark, I was negligent on the snow shot, though--no wreath on the door.  You also need the nighttime shot--although mine is less impressive at night, since my windows are fake.

Sticking snow is an uncommon occurrence in Portland, so I had to get the shot quickly--the snow was gone by afternoon.  I do need to do an inspection soon.  I'm failing to follow my own advice on checking on it for signs of damage, but so far, so good.  Approaching the one year mark on having put it all together, although upgrades are continuous.  My next project will be reworking the door signs.  I still don't think they'll be lighted, but they will look more like an actual box.

While enjoying the heck out of hb88banzai's Met box catalog posts and Dino's recent addition to Google Street View, I wanted to add my pictures.

I really, really wanted to do up my photo in an old-timey sepiatone effect like the pictures in the Met Box catalog, but the resolution on my camera is so crappy that it becomes almost unintelligible.  So here it is, unretouched:

Sadly the Google folks came by in the summer, so all there is to see is a nondescript blue shape behind the little blue-grey house. Here she is in the wintertime:

What a great setting for a tardis.  It looks like it meant to land there :

Right now she's painted like the Hartnell box. Soon I need to wheel the trash cans over and drag in some other dunnage and do up the obligatory "An Unearthly Child" title card shot. :D

And since the lamp is too small I should replace it so I can include the aforementioned stepladder shot.

Snopocalypse, so plenty of fresh TARDIS in the snow photos:

Very nice photos! Almost reminds me of the near-final scene in "A Christmas Carol". (I'd have said "The Unquiet Dead" if not for the white window frames and St. John logo.)

'Snopocalypse'? (I like that one; it ranks right up there with "Snowmageddon". ;))

Sorry to post late, just got round to checking these out and wanted to make it known how brilliant I think your build looks in the snow! The way it collects on the panels and around the windows is quite unique and very nice, not sure I've ever seen such wonderful snow pics! :)
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Volpone

lol. Thanks.  I guess that is the benefit of being too lazy to bevel the panel trim.  If only I live some place that it snows more than every couple years...

Haha well that makes two of us! But when I did mine I was nearly clueless about woodwork, I had no idea how to get a bevel, and when I did the base I actually used hand tools to painstakingly add the bevel (actually, I tell a lie - that was one of the weeks I got called back to London on work, so my father finished most of the job for me, which was very kind!). Although I was extremely grateful, the result is that the bevel is very soft and a bit curved, which I'm not fond of.
But still the snow doesn't collect like that on mine! One thing I that annoys me about not having bevels is that the shadows in the sun on the recessed panels seem very dramatic, not quite how it looks on TV, do you find this? Two of the walls of my build are made with wood cladding which is a bit too thick, so that could account for it to be fair.
Either way, yeah, like I said a very nice looking box there, looking at it again it's the way the snow contrasts with the grime of the windows which I think looks really convincing. Still not got any snow here yet, which is a bit disappointing... May be too late now.
