Hi, For those who have bought the New Haven lantern for the Matt Smith TARDIS, I'm wondering how you've attached the lamp to the plinth on the roof? The underside of the base of the lamp is concave. I'm thinking of cutting a hole in the plinth, around 1/2" less than the diameter of the lamp base so it's sits a little more flush with the base, but that doesn't leave me a lot of room to actually screw it down.

I hope I've explained that well enough, I've just read again what I've just written and it sounds a little gobbledegook!

Hi I will be doing this when I get to that point in my build.

I was going to do exactly as you have explained with the addition of a threaded bar screwed to the convex base of the lamp that can then be secured to the inside of the roof via a metal clip. I will also use sealent around the roof base where it touches the lamp.

I did similarly to that which both of you desribed, by making a plate to sit on top of the light box, with as you say a circular depression in the centre. I then made an identical plate without the depression, and simply glues them together. This allowed the bottom of the lamp to sit flush on the top, but I was also able to secure it using 4 bolts. The plate was then screwed to the top of the light box.
