Hey All,
I've been thinking about making a new door sign for the BARDIS, the frame around the sign on mine is way too thin, and the sign itself was made before the days of PDF's, etc, so is the best I could do at the time, but not accurate.

Firstly, and apologies if this has been answered a million times before, but what width do I need to make the frame around the sign for a TYJ?

And secondly, I'm having trouble linking to or finding a PDF for the correct sign which I can email/give to the sign company. Can anybody point me in the correct direction?

Thankyou!

Pod,
the sign you already have on your magnificent Tardis looks absolutely splendid to me...
why the need for a change?

If the Pull-To-Open door is, with the frame, 12" wide, then the frame is 1" wide all the way around.  I've just PDF-ified a TYJ sign in the Door Sign Reference thread.

Thankyou for the kind words Timerotor, that means a lot, especially coming from yourself! And you're right, the sign is completely fine and adequate; but, you know when you look at the thing every day and the little faults leap out at you and niggle you and niggle you and niggle you until you finally have to do something about it? Well, my door sign is like that. It's only problem really is the frame is too narrow, which a lot of people probably wouldn't even notice. Except me. And the sign itself was designed by me before this forum was in my consciousness, so it's just as good as I could make it, but not quite there... I hope that makes sense.

Thanks, deck5! I assumed it was about an inch. And thanks for the PDF!

You're welcome.  Let me know if you need any modifications.

Yes of course it does.
I tinker EVERY time I go back to Bristol - with my Tardis. I fully understand that its an ongoing project and we like to make it better if it niggles at us! LOL I've been going at it for a year!!!
So good luck with it.
I have recently been thinking of the sign again too. and using the Wikes shallow bow door handles that Scrafwearer has blogged about as they are slightly smaller than the actual door handles but very close in shape!
QUICK - BACK TO SIGNS!
I want to make a slightly bigger sign (with bigger type). I think the PDFs are brill and may have a go with those myself.
Cheerio.
MBH :)
