Also, bit confused, is the door sign Silver or White???   It looks White on TV, but reading the Tardis Build Diaries, many peoprl have Silver signs??

The silver phone panel came about with the new series and was used throughout the 9th and 10th Doctors series. The original (Hartnell, Brachacki) box had a white panel with blue lettering just like the real Police Boxes did at the time.

Over the 40 or so years that the TARDIS has been travelling for us, that panel changed as modifications, repairs, refurbishment, etc., were done to the prop. From the Hartnell stories where it was white, into the Troughton stories where it became blue (with white lettering) and lost its frame, to entering the Tom Baker era where it turned black, and then later in the T. Baker era it regained its frame and blue background with white lettering...

Does anyone know where i can get a perspex sign 13" x 12" or a similar size for a 2005 TARDIS?

Wasn't the 2005 TARDIS door sign made from metal: aluminum or something like it (non-rustable)? I'm not sure a perspex sign could create the scratched metal look the 2005 door sign had around its edges - unless you're very clever with painting.

2005 definitely was, probably ecclestons as well I think, but somebody may know for sure. Matt Smith is acrylic.

Eccleston's was the 2005 box. I think you meant that Tennant's was as well. Matt Smith... acrylic? (Have the Autons changed their physiology to become "anti-plastic" resistant?) Actually, I think Matt Smith is a little more flexible than acrylic.

I measured ther size of the sign on my TARDIS currently and I need a 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" sign for my Tennant Box.
I want to get one as cheep as possible, as when i went to an acrilic makers they quoted me £2 a letter! If anyone has one or knows where I could get one it would be of great help.

Will your Tardis be kept indoors or does it need to hold up to outside weather?

Was that for vinyl letters, or acrylic on acrylic?

The TARDIS is kept outside, and I think I want an acrilic on acrilic or whichever is cheeper.

Just to mention (possibly in the wrong thread?) that I've made the experiment of hand-painting a police post front sign... so that, rather than quickly achieving neat decal-transfer lettering, I spent a day achieving very slightly wobbly lettering. Anyhow, the moral is that it can be done, to a just-about acceptable standard.

The reason that it looks greyed out is that the police post already had a sheet of thick smoked glass in place of the sign, and it looked like an original repair so I was reluctant to remove it. I quite like its subtlety (though subtlety is not usually considered an advantage for information signs).

They still make transparency paper for overhead projectors. It is getting harder to find, but thankfully there's Internet shopping.  Grab a PDF file from this site (I forget where), print it out, spraypaint that backside of the sheet white, and then add a coat of clear paint over the lettering (because you probably have an inkjet printer instead of a color laser printer and the ink will wash off it it isn't protected).  Slap it in a frame.  Easy-peasy.
