This took about a week and a half of my life to finish. I really did little else while working on it.

But now I've run out of steam. The time rotor didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped it would ... and while I may come back and make another attempt, for now, this project is done.

That really does look splendid! And the time rotor looks pretty decent if you ask me - I'm interested in how you made that also...

Who was I kidding? I am too perfectionistic to let the rotor go. So here's my second attempt, with a light. I'm toying with the idea of putting in the mechanism that moves it up and down, but I really should be working on other things

I made both of them with transparency plastic, and tiny plastic dowels I found on Amazon. Each support on the new one runs through 2 star-shaped platters, and there are 4 sets of platters, for a total of 8 levels. (On the first one, I had shorter dowels and they only supported one platter - it was much messier). For the first attempt, I used a thick nail as an anchor for the center parts, with bits of foamcore to support the glowing tubes. On the new one, I used a paintbrush guard (to keep the bristles neat and straight in the store) as the anchor without any foamcore. I also used a less powerful glue that dries clear - they yellow of the first attempt is stronger, but really off-putting.

Fantastic wee model- the detail on that console is astonishing considering its size.

Also great pics- especially the view from beyond the main doors and all 11 Doctors inside the console room- I've never seen anything like that before
