I'm in the process of making a card model of a 2010 TARDIS for my nephew, and I've discovered a good resource for "pebbled" glass.

Supermarket milk cartons (plastic not card, naturally) are predominantly smooth grey translucent plastic, and I actually use the plastic for windows, as it glues well and can be painted on the back.

However I've just found out that some 2 pint versions have a small section of the carton in a textured pebbling effect.  It's the bit just behind the handle. You can't find it on any 4 pint ones, but on some 2 pinters.  Mainly from TESCO or CO-OP.

If you're doing a small model and you don't need much (my windows are 10mm by 20mm, one or two bottles is perfect.

Mrs Lorisarvendu has just come home with a 4-pint bottle of full fat milk from the Co-op, and it's textured. I thought it was only on the 2 pinters.

So there you have it.

Co-operative own-brand 4/2 pint Fat Milk
Blue Label

May even be on the skimmed & semi-skimmed varieties too.
