Can't seem to modify my old post, so here are some update
photos--I added the last support beam from the top of the
console to the wall. Not only does this seem to integrate
everything, but it also suggests an arched or domed ceiling.







In the first two photos you have a better look at the little snack table.

I definitely like this better than the current console room look, especially now that you've added the bracing from the top of the walls to the column. Now, just throw a semi-domed ceiling over it all like in the Tennant console room and, IMHO, I think this is more of the direction they should have moved in with the Matt Smith console room, instead of doing what they did.
