i think it was from the metal off a white board (that's why there are white)
we cut the metal with some metal shears (i think that's what their called  )

as i only done a small update earlier i decided to show you some of the electronics for the voices lights etc.:
here shows the voice box
motor for ears and nose
a 6v battery with charging unit
remote control for voices gun and movement
lights for mouth, eyes and light for gun
also the side panel (which you can only see the back of. **)

this all came from a 1/2 size k9 i purchased about 2 weeks ago.
for the gun and ear movement we will create a big version of the plates it uses to
move the existing gun and ears.

** plan to use this piece which has the on/off/try me buttons on and lights for the square cutout on the left hand side of K9

Another little post
today we recieved the aerial motor for k9's sensor it already has an inbuilt limiter (used so it doesn't keep pulling the aerial back in) and also when power is diconected it goes back in. it weighs about 1 and 3/4 lb so its pretty heavy for what it is.
it was just £3.99 on EBAY!

  It looks like great progress so far, the head looks spot on and the canibilizing of parts from the Toy K-9 is a great idea.  I do have  a question, is there a particular reason you keep putting the (SPOILER) comments for basically a statement on your build? 

The (spoiler) feature is there so that you can hide information about a broadcast episode that reveals something that someone who hasn't seen it would prefer not to know until after they've seen it.

If you use it for other purposes, you're likely to be surprised if we automate the forum to strip out spoiler tags after a specific period, or flag your topic as a spoiler topic because it happens to contain a number of spoilers... not that we currently have any plans to do either of those things, but it could happen. I'm just pointing out that using things for unconventional purposes can have unexpected consequences...

There's no particular benefit to making your posts look shorter. Posts are measured (if they are measured at all) by quality, not by size.

Suggestion: get some cardboard and build a 1:1 model trying it with inches.  It will also help you conceptualize your real build so you know how to make things fit right and don't hit too many snags.

don't worry i found out that it was in inches

but does anyone know the size of the base ?? by ?? in inches?
i just want to compare it with the size of my base

This afternoon we started the main body and managed the first section of k9's body.
in case you saw that in the picture it said

that is becouse we scaled it down a bit because the extra leg like pieces ect. will be added later so it won't actualy be a smaller k9 than the original just the base will be.    it will not affect the rest of the body.

The scaling didn't work it's still massive

it's starting to take shape now  
lets hope for some good weather so the glue can dry and we can carry on with the rest of his body

and sanding down should take place tomorrow
and more pictures at the weekend.

what is the problem with the removable panel? someone may be able to help if we knew what it was

does anyone actually know how to rig a 24v 6.5amp wheelchair motor to a 6v RC system?

because as i said in a previous post i wanted to use the existing k9 controller for the full size k9 but as the already existing motors will not be able to move it.  i would need more powerfull motors but there is a problem how do i attach a 24v motor to a RC system that only needs 6v??? or is it is even possible??

please help!!!!

i have decided that the removable panel will be like a big circuit board with wires and LOADS of switches that don't actually do anything. and i will have a key which when i insert it into k9 and turn the key it will allow the electric current to pass through which will turn k9 on. and also k9s head will be removeable you will just unconnect  the wires undo the nuts that hold his head on and k9's head can just be pulled of for better storage.

If no-one pops up to answer this question, you could try over on whoprops - there are more K.9 builders over there.

i have sorced 4 more of those battries showed in the other picture of the components i have we will wire two up in series and the other two up in series giving us two pairs of 12v then wire both pairs up in paralel to give 12v but double the ampege
i have also sorced ALLOT of switches etc.
and a really powerfull aerial for the tail to attach to to give it increased range
and found some tumbell dryer pipe for the neck
