I'm pretty sure I can get one shipped in the US for $28 or so and then less than $20 over to you.

See, this is what annoys me. It seems that whenever something used in prop building comes to our attention, it is immediatly discontinued and becomes almost impossible to find. For example, the Smith Anchor Lamp, and more recently, the Guardman Lamp, is there a curse on TARDIS-building or sommin?
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

It does seem that's the way, but at least in these two instances, they are both relatively easy to find still.

This also seems to happen to TARDIS interior components as well. I've been looking high and low for one of those "Blue Bell" desk bells (tap bells, call bells, hotel bells - they go by dozens of names) like they had on the 9th/10th Doctor console. There is a very clear shot of it, in a close-up of the 9th Doctor's hand as it starts glowing just before he starts regenerating near the end of "Parting of the Ways", and you can clearly see "BLUE BELL" on its base. I haven't been able to source this bell anywhere.

The new bell they use on the Matt Smith console seems readily available via ebay in various conditions and prices, or they have an excellent (almost exact) version of it on the Stanley London web site (http://www.stanleylondon.com/deskbell.htm - for those looking to, or have started gathering components for that console). So, until I can find a "Blue Bell", I've opted for this version. It is a console bell after all, so I'm allowing myself a little artistic licence, especially since I'm likely to end up with a 9th Doctor "Chibi" console version if it's going to fit in the intended room; this house just doesn't have rooms big enough. A full-sized console just ain't gonna happen here, unless, of course, it's the Season 14 Wooden console, which may come before the 9th Doc's console (if I can get my friend to lend a hand; he'd got a full wood working shop and has built things far more elaborate than this).

For anyone still looking for the 9th/10th Doctor TARDIS lamp, this place has almost 200 on hand, and for just 15 Euro:

I just spotted a Gerson lantern in a local store that looks very much like that Gardman lantern.  Amazon calls it "Gerson Everlasting Glow 7.87 by 10.24 Inch Metal and Resin Round Lantern with Flameless LED Candle Black Color"

It comes in copper too.

I'd call that an exact match! And since it's going to be painted blue if its final destination is atop a NST build, then definitely go for the black one; it's less expensive than the copper one, and it still qualifies for Amazon's Super Saver Free Shipping! (You can't beat that with Ace's bat!)

As of this posting it says the black ones have 16 left in stock, but more are on the way, so I'd say for those working on a NST build and haven't gotten the lamp yet, jump on this one!

According to the shipping info Amazon ships to Europe as well as several other countries, and the shipping charges didn't look outrageous so you may not need to use Amazon UK. Just for giggles try ordering one and see what happens, and what your total is going to be before you click that final Submit Order button. Who knows? You may be in luck.

I might just try that. I am planning to convert my box to a Tennant one day, but not anytime soon. The question is... Will the shipping charges bump up the price to something more expesive than that stupidly epensive Ronda Lantern?
