You could get a fresnel instead of the lantern, though it'd be more than 40 quid if you wanted a tall, yet skinny fresnel.

Looks familiar

£9.99 but I'm not sure if it's the right size

Yeah, it's a little short.  But it would be more in the dimensions of a traditional TARDIS fresnel.  It'd be good for indoor props, though.

Thanks Timegirl your a real life saver. I found the company you mentioned and have placed an order.  This is the right one, and I don't think it's short at all. You have saved me 30 pounds, so I owe you a drink!! You guys are always so helpful and I am always grateful for your help.

Well i received the lamp today from the website you mentioned. It is a tiny bit shorter than the last one I received and the glass inside is in rectangular panels, rather than the circular glass used last time. Still it will be fine and daresay easier to remove the glass this time. It is also slightly different in the metal strips round the middle. Still £9.99 can't complain. I'm still not sure which one is more accurate. I will post photos of the difference when I can be bothered. I still have to paint it first and cut all the bits off.

The lamp you need, dimensions and a potential supplier are on this topic: [ref topic=774]New Series Lamp[/ref] a little further down the topic list. :)

had seen that topic but it was a little old and outdated 2007-2009 (none available any more).
was looking for the original dimentions not any not available alternatives so i could see if the one i had see would be any use to modify.

Are you buying this because you can't find the correct lamp? Just awhile back we found a lot of them available at a couple places. Post if you need help finding them and I'll look again.
