I had to cut a bunch of 1x4s down to 1x3s for the slats on my box...now I have a bunch of 3/4"x1" sticks that are pretty long, and I hate to see them go to waste.  What could I build with a bunch of skinny pieces like that?

Window trim maybe?

I think they're a little too thick for the window trim.  They wouldn't leave any room to put glass in (if I was going to do glass...right now I'm aiming for wax paper or parchment, but I might spruce it up when I have a little more money).  And I'm a little wary of the table saw now, especially trying to slice something that thin.  Last night while trying to sleep I thought, "Oh, duh, I still need something for the sign boxes," so that will use up a stick or two.

There you go!  Trim for the front of the sign boxes.

They also may become support pieces so that the sides don't topple over.
