Hello everyone.  I have just joined this forum today and I've been spending the last few mins looking around at whats here.  I don't know if I am putting this in the right place but if not I hope one of the moderators will move it.
Anyhoo, could someone point me in the right direction to acquiring the Usual Suspects picture shown earlier in this thread.  Any help would be gratefully received.

In a vain attempt to add something to the forum, I should just like to mention that the picture of the box at Hendon Police college (came across it twice on two different posts here) is no longer at Hendon.  It was removed several years ago.  Those photos are very old!  The good news is that the Mk III is still there, though sadly in a delapidated state.

Welcome to the board!  You'll find all kinds of useful stuff here and everyone is pretty friendly.  Regarding "The Usual Suspects" - just lift it from page 1 of this thread, that's what I put it there for, for people to save to their computers for their own use.

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to computers.  I wouldn't know where to start with lifting.
What I was thinking of was the picture without the words usual suspects, so that I could see all of the boxes.

Thanks for the info about the Hendon boxes, Don't suppose you happen to have any photo's lurking anywhere?

As for lifting, hover your curser on the picture and right click your mouse. A menu should appear. Choose "Save picture as..." and follow instructions. Job done.

I have the same skill with cameras that I have with computers I'm afraid.  I don't have any pictures of the box that used to be on the ground floor by the escalators but access to the Mk III is not too difficult.  Just wish i could use a camera.........

Welcome! (Yes, usefulness and friendliness abound here...!) Nice to know that the Hendon box survives still.

Cameras and computers may be a bit 20th century but how are you with a tape measure? A few measurements of the Hendon 'Mk3' would be interesting... (well, I _imagine_ that they'd be interesting, in the very specific Tardis-builder sense of the word 'interesting,' and it would be nice to find out...!)

I think I can manage a tape measure ok.....we'll soon find out!

When I get a chance I will get a ladder and have a measure up.  What sort of thing are you interested in.  Exterior or interior?  The shelf and drawer are still in situ so that may assist people with heights, dimensions etc.

As I posted the above I remembered that this forum is all about the police box as a TARDIS.  I don't suppose you are interested in the interior at all.  Anyhoo let me know.

Well actually.......

Although I'm a big fan of the show, and the TARDIS, I'm actually building a police box both inside and out.

If you have the time (and tape measuring skills ;-)), I would really appreciate some measurements.

As to camera skills, I'm not bad with a camera, but the camera I have is pretty poor. I've posted loads of my own pictures and all in all, it's the content that counts the most, not the quality!

I shall take a tape measure in to work and keep it for when I get a chance.  Going to look a bit silly with a step ladder propped against my desk !

I'm definitely on police boxes too - only made a model so far, but started buying materials for a full-size one. A few measurements of the outside for comparison with a 'Mk 2' would be interesting: but the more the better, inside and out! Please!

I hadn't forgotten.....promise !  Just haven't had the opportunity.

For what it's worth I have spoken to a photographer (professional) and when the opportunity arises, he promises to take some shots for me.

I will let you know when it is done.

What happened?? It's been nearly two months, and still no pics of the Hendon MkIII. The only time I saw that box was on the tube going between Hendon and Colindale yonks ago - I had to drag my poor parents across London and it was only a fleeting glimpse. I remember thinking, that isn't the same as Dr Who's TARDIS! We even went and asked the bobby on the main gate and he said we'd just missed the one that was on the main gate being removed. Bugger, I thought.
