Hi All
At the behest of our friend Crispin the Scarfwearer, I am going to start threads containing pictures of all the existing police boxes.
First up, the daddy of them all, the last remaining Metropolitian police box;

Crich Tramway museum, Derbyshire

Please feel free to add your pictures to the threads as they emerge, the more the merrier, as they say

Many thanks

Hi all
I am new here so please be gentle with me
I attended the Crich refurb press launch yesterday (400 mile round trip from Kent) and took loads of pics. I don't know if any of you lads and ladies were present, but nobody seemed to be taking the thorough pictures I was.
The point is I don't have the wherewithal to post them here but if someone would like to email me I will happily attach them to a reply and maybe then some of them could be posted for all to see.
Kind regards
Chriskingbees
PS I am seriously thiking about a build (I've got a beautiful bakelite phone from 1953 to put in the PULL TO OPEN panel)

Hello,

You lucky person, I couldn't get time off!

If you're seriously thinking of a build, you're definately in the right place!

You could set up a (Free) account with "Photobucket", thats what many of us here have done. This lets you upload pictures to the photobucket site, and then post them on sites such as this, ebay, etc.

I don't have the link to hand, but a bit of googling should find it.

That said, I would happily aquire a set of pictures from you (I won't post them anywhere without approval), for camparison to the ones I have prior to re-fit. My e-mail's listed if you wouldn't mind sending them?

Thanks for the pictures, and also for posting them.

Tom, the door has always looked like this since the box arrived at Crich.

Oddly enough, on the interior of the door, there are nice recessed panels ??? Always lead me to belive it was hung/re-hung the wrong way round at some point?!

Thanks for letting us see them.

Hello again
There was one Dalek (With a neat line in patter) and Davison Doctor lookalike, complete with wife (Nyssa), daughter(Romana II) and small son (Turlough). Half a dozen photographers maybe and tram drivers who were more interested in the Dalek obviously as I suppose they're quite used to the Police Box. I've added some more pics and yes it's me in the doorway in the morning mist.
Cheers Chris

Nice pictures there, the box looks rather nifty now.

That Fifth Doctor impersonator - why, it's Barry Manilow as the Doctor!  He's the same chap I saw a number of years ago who was making a bit of an arse of himself in front of a crowd at Longleat, waving a sonic screwdriver at a Dalek whilst prancing around it proclaiming, "I am the Doctor and I will destroy you, Dalek!"

At this point, I nearly about turned and went home.

nice to see the box looking good but i agree the door has got to be on the wrong way and are the door insides serposed to be white not blue ?

Nice pictures - and good to see the thing not looking over-restored. That does look like the _outside_ of a door - just not the outside of a typical police box door. And the window glass remains pleasantly anomalous too. (Perhaps this box was one step towards a 'Mk 3'?)

The door's definitely on the wrong way round - it has to be. But if you look at the interior 360 in the avoncraft box, the door is blue and everything else is white.

Hi Everyone,

We went to Crich today, my first visit. I took a few photos and thought I'd share them.
I hope that they will be useful to someone for TARDIS / Police Box building reference.
I'll do this in two parts as there are quite a few pics.
First a few window shots:

Click on these thumbnails for larger pictures.

BTW Does anyone know how to get these thumbnails to spread across the message in rows rather than form a column?

Edit:  That's better. Thanks Crispin and mantawrays
