Photoshop will centre things automatically if you set it up right :)

Give me a few days :) what are the fonts btw?

I used Times New Roman from "Police" down to "Public" then Gill Sans for the rest.

This is a link to steelgohst's version on Deviantart: http://steelgohst.deviantart.com/gallery/#/dqma93 . It gets used by a lot of people on Craftster.

Cool :) Looks like he uses VAG for the lower text. Which version is it meant to be?
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

Well it's black on white, whereas the post-1983 box has white on blue, where the blue is the same shade as the box.  Plus there's that ampersand again.  I must nose through my McCoy and see if I can find a decent screencap.

Rassilons Rod

Black On White: yes thats why I asked which version it should be.

My first guess would be NST. But its not square, at least not on my phone.

My other guess would then be Hartnell, but that didn't use VAG.

Great sign, even though its not the one for your box :)

The MK2 door sign for the '80's TARDISes does start out with Times Bold, but the bottom half, to me, looks more like hand-painted lettering, not a specific font.

OK, I've done a bit of stretching, and a bit of centering, and I quite like the look of this:

It's a bit long, but that's to give me room to slice off the ends to make it fit.

I just made my first sign, its a bit of a WIP cos I don't know the exact size of the panels for the TYJ prop.

Also I just realised as I came to post, that I made the MK I... however I can adjust the text and fonts after
I have fixed this one up and make the MK II quite easily. Note: The MK I appears to have AND rather than &.
Also, I have used Times New Roman and not bolded it, cos I thought it looked a bit crap to be honest, and not
very accurate.

When I have the dimensions right, I will make a few versions for printing and sign making, with and without
frame.

The dimensions I have are 30x38cm (including the frame) and I have made it smaller for uploading at this
time. Any improvement on this would be great, also I would like to know the thickness the frame should be. :)

Cheers,
-Marc

Brilliant!
Thanks Marc, and Dave!
I'll get these installed in the table shortly - something odd going on with the linking at the moment, which I'll try to sort out.

Using these files (stretched and pulled in Photoshop from screengrabs)...

...I made this, with Perpetua. :)

I have assumed correctness on my guessed dimensions and come up with these for TYJ v2.

If the dims are wrong and they need correcting, that shouldn't be too hard to do later.
EDIT: Attachment removed, pending update

and a BW one for templating (note that the frame is not mitred on this version, like it is for the Brachacki)

I just noticed that I wrote "Officers & Cars" instead of "Officer and Cars", will fix that over the next few days.

I can probably improve on the ampersand symbol at some point...

It's certainly Perpetua and Perpetua Titling for the Barnet sign; have you tried Perpetua Titling for the Hartnell sign?

Nice one!  Yeah, go for it.  We could do with a better screencap, but I guess there just isn't the footage, and to be honest I don't fancy scrolling through hours of McCoy eps just in case!

I'm quite happy with my version for now, because it's only 2.4cm by 3.4cm, but a bigger version will help with full-size boxes (or perfectionists).
