Thanks for posting Chris.
I saw this on Saturday while out shoplifting, but didn't have my camera with me.
I was most surprised to see the new colour scheme.
Having seen it up close I can attest to the rather bad paint job they have applied.
I mean.. crudely painted.
The gold panels only have one coat of paint and the window spars are a bit smudged.

Why go to all that trouble and not make a decent job of it.
Perhaps it's the very shiny gloss paint they applied which shows up every bump and flaw.
Ahh well..

who picked those colors? How crazy to have an ICON and ignore the proper blue color.
Black gold and yellow=ick
What would the Doctor do?

"Good news everybody!"

Buchanan St is blue again, the box not the street ;D

Taken on Tuesday 15th September, thanks to The Shaun Woods on Flickr;

Don't know about the windows, but, apparently the gold panels are back, and the window bars are painted again;

Perhaps the little brown guy on the left side of the base is to blame?

The door window has defiantly been flipped in recent times.

Maintained by Ward Westwater, who owns all the Glasgow boxes, I believe...  Recently vanished for a couple of months whilst the street itself was refurbished - also the box painted white with various coloured spots as an "art installation" in Glasgow; quickly painted blue again after many complaints!

(see above): Marc, regarding your earls court pic, I think I have an almost identical one of myself in the same stance, looking equally metal! (I used to model myself on Jason Newsted, until I became an undertaker. The funeral directors I work for prefer their staff not to look like Metallica bassists). Sadly however, it appears you are one inch taller than me.

Hello folks. I was in Glasgow recently and had the opportunity to take some photos of the Buchanan Street box. They are night shots, alas, but may be of use to someone seeking detail.

I mostily live in edinburgh now but sorry edinburgh box fans- youcant beat the buchanan street one. Its noce to see photos of it when its quite- the streets always so busy.I remember they let it get into a state for a while but its cleaned up nicely !
