Ok got my dog, and although i am generally happy about it, there are several..well,i say several, but i mean loads, i need to change
but first of all i think i should start with the eye, at the moment it doesn't light up or have a plastic eye front as it were,
so could someone tell me ( deep breath )
Where i can get the Red Plastic eye Grill from ?
What do i need to make the Eye Light up?
Where do i get these Parts From?
How do i use and fit them?

You paid the best part of £1700 for that dog?  Blimey!  Well I'm not here to pass comment on Mutant Mouldings, but the idea of selling such an item with an RC system that's nothing more than an off the shelf, cheap toy car stuck inside of it does make my eyebrow raise considerably.

So, on to your dog.  First question - do you really have the nerve to start chopping it up after you paid that kind of money for it?  It'll be a messy job to do and will require a lot of work and a good tub of filler... If you're not confident, I'd say just leave it, or at the very least just replace those crappy ears, tail, gun, eye plate and give it a collar.  Or in other words, just upgrade the basic cosmetics.

If you are willing to start chopping, you'll need something like a dremmel with a flexible shaft and a cutting wheel.  Slowly cut around the panel line (that's what it was originally intended for anyway) and also around the top of the head.  Once off, it'll look quite shabby, but that's why God invented body filler, so you can then tidy up the cuts afterwards.

To remount the side panel, put in a couple of wooden stoppers to prevent the panel from falling right inside the body and if you want to go one step further, put a couple of kitchen cabinet magnets in there to hold it in place.  As for the head, same deal really, but instead of magnets, use screws.  If I recall correctly, the under side of the head should already be removable (why they did it this way is anyone's guess) - you'll need to fix that back in with resin and matting.  The cheap car repair stuff from Halfords should suffice for this.

Hopefully that's enough to either get you started or put you off the idea.

All I can suggest is that you do a search on plastics suppliers and order yourself some translucent red acrylic for the eye panel - some companies offer a cutting service.

To make it light up... well, you're gonna need some lights.  Check out Maplins, they're dotted around the country and more than likely have a website, so you'll need a couple of 12v bulbs, holders, a battery, wire and some other stuff.  I think they supply kits, try their educational section.

Beyond that, I can't really help... on Dale's dog, he had two motorcycle lamps (?) connected up to a 12v adapter, but this meant that at the time, he had to have the K9 plugged into a wall socket to illuminate, though he's had it converted over to battery power now.

Just thought of something really simple for the eye lights; two small torches, that'd be easy to bodge up into a servicable system.

As Purple said mine's got two bulbs (12v Mini indicator bulbs and holders culled from an old Dalek I used to have) and they're held in place by a screw into a wooden support beam in my dog's head.  The wiring then goes down through the neck, into the body where it joins up with the electronics and suchlike running off a 12v battery; but again as PB mentioned, it used to run very well of an AC multivoltage adaptor set at 9v. 

It might help to post a picture of your dog as is, with and without eye screen in place so we can see what room you've got.

Ok right got that ok, now in the thread below, Dales and Purples rebuild, i have seen alot of photo's with panels missing, ie on the side and the head, now i have heard that this Mutant Mouldings object is a TPE Re-cast, ( is that a good or a bad thing? ) so what i would like to know is how do you remove these sections of panelling and then re-attach them? cos i paid 2 grand for this thing and although i feel i was ripped off, i dont want to kamakazi on it with a saw ( what has happened to Mutant Mouldings anyone? )

Firstly... who charged you £2000 for a MM K-9?  A TPE one was only £800 odd new!

still, with some work, that could be a nice dog.  New eyes, ears, gun, neck, calculator panel, logo, tail and base should do it... I'm sure Purple can advise better than I...

Laughing? I'm not laughing, I'm bloody furious that somebody ripped you off to THAT degree!  Still, discard the stoopid car and do a lot of rebuilding to the prop and it'll be a perfectly decent and servicable robot pooch.  Give to give you a clue ( and sorry fella, I think this is going to hurt) there's a non R/C version on ebay ending tomorrow for £300, and that's more or less what I'd expect for a MM K-9.

That's a Mutant Mouldings Mut alright. I have one too but paid about £500 for it.
I was also unhappy with it but changed a few parts and now love it.
My one is just a static prop but have made his eye and back light up
They was going to make the NSD but the BBC pulled out I think.
I got most of my parts from eBay for my K9. The eye and logo were just nasty.
Mutant Mouldings did sell them on a shopping channel ( not sure if it was QVC ) but the guy had to sell up as he had family problems.
I think his work was OK but not perfect. His Daleks were good but once again parts will need changing.
