Nobody is quite sure how it was dismantled, because no one is quite sure who had it after filming.

On plans though, this thread (https://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=650.0) has three different plans for the final shape of this box. They're all very similar, slightly different, it's up to you to choose which one to follow or if you create a fourth (!) one.

It is interesting to note that the pebbled windows are in the correct position on the plans (but not on the finished prop).

But equally, why are the plans drawn for the narrow 2" wood side planks (down the side of each door/window panel - when I understood that was a mistake because the wrong wood was supplied - so they had to compensate on the fly and make the windows in inner panels wide to combine with the narrower than originally planned planks.

That is - perhaps these are not original plans at all, but something drawn up afterwards?

I've recently been in communication with Philip Segal and he's told me that the 1980 plans are the basis for the 1996 box. This surprised me but apparently it's common knowledge.
I've not previously researched this particular Tardis prop.

There are many design/detail similarities with the TYJ box and the movie box.  The most similar, is perhaps the Barry Newbery Prop _after_ it was altered for Legopolis - correcting the roof whilst retaining the historically more accurate sign-boxes (compared to the TYJ prop).

This altered Newbery prop had the properly bevelled panels as well.

After you take into account the squareness of the movie box and depth of the sign-boxes were decisions in which they wanted to differentiate (or were forced to because the wrong wood stock was delivered) - it is notable that Barry Newbery on his plans intended to light the sign-boxes and the windows too - but as usual - budget got in the way.
