Change that request I have now found them and have a google searchable name

Gardman Parisian Lantern

after a lead towards Gardman, a phone call to the UK head office has produced a product name, and lo and behold there are at least 6 online retailers selling them at 9-99 pounds. So this info is here FYI

cheers all

This is the lamp in question. I have found it at a local garden centre for £11.99

OYLAMP.jpg

It was £9.99 two years ago, and as mentioned, it is becoming harder to find.
Mark, I will happily send one with the lock and handles, if you'd like

By chance, does anybody have one of these they could measure for me? If I can't find one, this looks pretty simple to turn on a lathe from aluminum if I have good dimensions.

I have a very similar lamp that you may be able to use if you like, I can grab a pic this weekend for ya.

Phillip,

I measured my lamp for you today.  The base is 7 1/4".  The larger dome is 8 1/2" across.  The total height was 11 1/2".  I hope that helps.

Here's an update on my recent effort to get the lanterns for my upcoming Matt Smith Tardis build. If you're looking for these pieces, this should help you at the moment.

Though I'd swear I tried to use the link above to the bestnet.com Gardman Lamps and it was out of stock several weeks ago, I tried again last Monday and they had it in stock. I was on vacation but returned home yesterday to see it was here and the correct lamp to be used for the NST topper.

I see they are now out of stock at bestnet.com, but their description was "Gardman Parisian Garden Lantern" and a quick google search of that turns them up still available at an Amazon store site. So, though discontinued, if you need the topper, this is the one to buy. I paid $23.99 plus shipping and that's what Amazon shows it as as well.

I was also still able to purchase the Anchor Lantern from Nauticaltropical.com a couple weeks ago. http://www.nauticaltropical.com/store/Lampspage3.htm.
It's the 14" Brass Anchor Lamp and they still show it in stock. This is the lamp Purple shows as the lamp for the Matt Smith Tardis on in his blog: http://purpleblancmange.wordpress.com/2010/06/14/lets-shed-some-light-on-the-issue/. I paid $179.95 plus shipping and they still show that price.

Here's what they look like:

Nice find....
Though the $179 price tag has me not wanting to buy one to cut up, which is why I am thinking of rigging up something so that it looks something like without costing me that much.

Let me know if you want any other photos or measurements to make it easier.

Well, if you could get me the diameter and height of the pieces of the lamp immediately above and below the fresnel that would help, thanks.
I'm probably going to wind up trying to make them out of wood, since they looks like they are painted blue in the only pic I have seen, I doubt I can make them very well from metal and it shouldn't show that much either (I hope)
