I discovered this yesterday while hunting for the actual lantern used on the Old New Series TARDIS (doesn't that sound strange)

I'm not sure on the size of these things, but if you are making the New NST you only need the weather cap to put on top of the Fresnel...
and to that end I present to you....

The Gardman bird feeder!

Have been looking around for this, but no luck so far. Wanted to ask if this has been identified?

Thanks.

Oh lord yes..there's a whole sub section for "the lamp" on this site  ;D

And lucky too,  ;D  there's our XLNT former Admin Purpleblancmage's blog on the lamp:

What would the Doctor do?

Yes, I actually meant the very top of the lamp that is referenced to being used on earlier versions. That's the part I seem to have missed finding.

Hi Philip
The top of the lamp is actually the same modified part as the 2005/9 lamp made by Guardman

It means buying two lamps, but it is accurate.

Thanks. I looked at the photos of that lamp (I think) and the photos at purple's site, and I guess it looks like a section of the purchased lamp was removed and the very top attached very well, seamlessly it looks. Is that correct? I looked pretty hard for the lamp and it does look like it's no longer available anywhere, so I've posted asking for dimensions. I'm pretty sure I could just make that from aluminum on a lathe if I'm unable to buy one.

Just updating this since I was able to find the topper and posted about both that and the anchor lamp in the lamp thread here:

Hi guys,

Where would be the best place to get hold of a Gardsman garden lamp? I need this cap quite urgently and if anyone knows where I can grab several of them in the South East of England it'd be really handy. Otherwise has anyone tried the bird feeder cap? Does that work well enough?
