One of the things I've enjoyed about this build is how, back in the 1980s, the BBC prop people almost certainly stuck some odds and ends onto a hot glue gun (or similar small hand tool) while you actually went to the trouble of building a replica of a 1980s English hot glue gun.  And the odds and ends that got stuck on it for that matter.  The prop builder probably just rummaged through some junk drawer for appropriate looking pieces while you had to figure out how to build all the stuff he or she had lying around.

All of a sudden I think of the "Twin Dilemma". The pistol's they used were actually glue guns with pyrotechnics added.
