Hello everyone.

I've been recently wanting to get my hands on a 10th/11th/12th Doctor sonic screwdriver prop replica made out of metal with LEDs (don't care if there's sound or not) for under 200 pounds, or about 275 dollars.

I explored on the internet for a while. I came across Celestial Toystore, which had a good range of 10ths that were cheap, but all sold out, and the only one remaining was the whopping £500 11th sonic, which is beautiful, but far too expensive. I then found Rubbertoe Replicas, Collingwood and MFX, but of course, most of them are unavailable, too expensive (in the actual price and the delivery and VAT). Finally, I found the Wand Company ones, but those are going on eBay for alto even when they are broken. I made a bid on a 'temperamental' 11th one a year ago but decided to cancel.

I wanted to ask everyone here, what do you think is the best course of action that fits my query?

I am quite a good modeller on Fusion 360 and have made several things, like mostly accurate roundel walls and a Brachacki Altered Box modelled by eye.

What I have considered is getting a 10th sonic modelled/modelling a 10th sonic, getting the parts CNCed and then doing the electronics, but I have very little experience in all of these and therefore I would find it challenging. Would this work? I also have an Ender 3 v2 so I could definitely make prototypes.

I found a chap called SanHolo80 on DeviantArt but it turned out he'd conned people and ran away.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4148238 Would it also be possible to use a Thingiverse file to get milled and sent over to me? It would only be for personal use, not for commercial use.

Otherwise, if this 'homemade' idea doesn't work, what options do I have? Do people do commisions on here? If you do, please let me know. If that isn't allowed, do let me know as well, I am not too experienced on this forum.

Would I be able to find/make/get commisioned/get made a 10th doctor sonic screwdriver that has a functioning LED and is accurate to the show for rougly £200?

Anyone who has some advice please reply to this message.

Cheers.
G

I d'say, if you have the machine for turning métal, try making à 10th doctor sonic to start with. It's the easiest to make i think. About the electronics, if you don't care about the sound, i'd'look for some blu leds, fin wire and à simple bouton. Other wise, you might find some character option sonic to gut and get the chip.

For dimension, i'll look around this place and try to link you à channel about this sonic.

But other wise, i encourage you to keep posted on celestial toys/Rubber toe just in case some pops up. And look around here if not already done fore more tops and info. I'm à model maker and i can't say how much valable info i've found out here.

Chers to you mate

Hello,

I don't have a metal turning machine, and not really anything else like that.

Only a 3D printer really, and i'd like a proper replica, if you know what I mean.

Do you know if anyone does commissions apart from those two you suggested? No one sells them 2nd hand, and even when they do, they will be expensive.

My 'budget' theoretically is about 275 DOLLARS.

I could use this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4148238 and get the parts CNCed for me? Although I have no idea how to do the electronics, like the microswitch or the wires for the slider.

Cheers.

May be take à look over the "props from the shop" section. But no one really takes commissions here. This site isn't suposed to be use for commercial porpuse. So no one really advertise about the stuff they sell or where. I'm affraid you still have some research to do
