Hey guys, it looks like it is a hard topic to determine, so i thought a new channel could be a good way to come to a conclusion.
I've taken a few pictures around this board to try and figure out the color of the box, yet i'm still nit conviced i have a a good idea of what it was.

what we do know (i think):
-The Hudolin prop box looks to be the same color every where, no touch up (or at least non visible) or even much of weathering was done on this prop. only texture work. this must mean the box is a flat store bought paint.
-the stunt tardis was the same color under the same lighting and camera equipment, so i guess it wust be the same color on that as well
-we know where the model is and have ways to contact the guy who owns it (tho i recomand not to contact him right now, maybe this could be a subject of discution. I'd be pretty scared to have a dozen and a half people comming to ask for refrence picture and paint look.)

What we don't know but i assume:
-the tv movie box isn't a dark puply blue. altho it can't be confirm a 100%, it looks that way because mostly of lighting, post compositing and filming equipment. the same conditions gave the dark fade jade green color of the doctor's suite a darker, almost black look (accentuated by the material to be fair).
-the miniature model used for the intro sequence looks to be painted with the same paint, maybe slightly fined. It's right, good news, we know the where about of the model!
-if the paint was not a custom shade, that means it was largly aviable and maybe even still comercially aviable. either way, if we can get the brand of the paint at least, we could have access to the color palette disponible prier and during preproduction. wich could end up on finding a precise shade with quite some acuracy.

To finish this post, here is some pictures a gathered around this forum, i'll try to credit each and every posters(feel free to comment if i forgot any one)

from a dark studio photo shout. there's a hint of some white light (maybe a HMI even for the more yellowish halos) dark place crudly lighted shot with what looks to be one of those film pelicule know for the way it makes skin tones looks deep and warmly appiling. posted by @galacticprobe

a day shoot. already the color looks more mid blu then it looks purple. almost like the capaldy years tardis (wich is some lighting shots and promo picture, looks actaly to be quite similary colored) also i think the police sign looks to be a similar yet diffrent shade of blu. maybe due to the clear panel reflecting light or just darkening it a bit. or maybe the way the graphics where made (maybe printed vinyle film).I think whe have a good look at a shade there. or at least a beter one then the 2 previous pictures. posted by @davidnagel

yet again a @davidnagel post with a day shot of the box. this one looks a bit more vibrant. nothing much to had exept the sign boxes looks like a similarish yet darkened blue. the pull to open panel is a bit of too but it can also be because of the the condition it was made and shot.

and a very promessing one. the intro sequence model effect miniature. this is a very recent picture of it posted by his pround owner, i'm convinced it is it because of the few inacurate details and bondo marks on it.
if this was painted with the same paint used on the full size prop, this might be our best chance at aving a color refrence. posted by @ChameleonCircuit

i'll do a back up of this post and update it with any new info we have/ can confirm/debunk.
thanks for reading and maybe participating, if i forgot any thing (info/credit/details and more, feel free to notifie me)
cheers

I was asking about this on the Tardis Builders FB group a few weeks ago, and Simon Nash said the This Planet Earth builds use RAL5013 cobalt blue.  He said it wasn't definitive because of the scant reference available - but that's the color I'm going for on my box.

@too_many_cars thx for the tip, i'll take a look at this. I'm still thinkig about messaging Mr Segal about his model and maybe for some shooting mémories and... Who knows, maybe picrures ?

I've been looking for that color, and i'm feeling like it's a bit of. It goes maybe too purple in my opinion. At least for what i can found
Wich is mostly this:

Also those apparently, but i doubt it's what it's suposed to look like:

When i look at their pictures, it looks pretty nice, but i think it's of. What do you guys think. I think the real coolor should be a bit more lighter/grayer and more blue then purple

That's what I use, albeit satin rather than matt (the coating I use, also recommended by Mr Nash, only comes in satin). To be perfectly honest, screen accurate or not, I far prefer the little bit of shine that it brings.

Edit: Looks like three completely different colours in these pics🤣

It's not the original color used, but when a friend of mine recently made a custom Hudolin TARDIS, he used "Macragge Blue" by Citadel Paints and it's a great match. It has the "color shifting" quality that the actual prop had. Linked below is a gallery showing two photos of his TARDIS, as well as a photo found online showing the color used on a Warhammer figurine.
