I'm not a sculptor, I've had literally no training in sculpture even at school but I thought it was the best way to have a go at this cute little alien worm thing from Scream of the Shalka.

I am aware sort of looks like a poo so comments along those lines aren't needed lol.

Your reference image has more green in it. Maybe air brush some reptilian pattern interlaced with lava joints. Structurally sound. Looks like the buggeh.

Yes a touch of green and some red veins will make that look splendid.

Thanks for the feedback. I think that looking poo-like is unavoidable lol.

I'm not confident I can do the veins well enough but I've given it some dry brusing with a more greeny brown. The texture has come out well, sort of stone like but organic as well.

I'll take pics tomorrow when the light is better.

I'm also going to make a little habitat for him. My props all fit into my Cardinal persona/fantasy life and so they all relate to a story in my head so I envision him as a pet or something more like a research subject like the Rani's T-Rex embryos, in this case retrieved and kept after an encounter with the Shalka.

You simply cannot show us that picture & not expect a few crap gags (That was mine...)

This is why "Creature from the Pit" is going to be an interesting one for my cosplay thread...Imagine the gags THAT one's going to generate!!!!

Closer look at volcanic gas feeder. Don't know why the bit outside the box looks enormous in the pics but you know by now that I'm not good at this.

The habitat really helps to make it look less poo-like.

Makes a change from having a goldfish, I guess...

I love Scream of the Shalka. I think it's such an interesting story. My only worry at the time was that they might bring Doctor Who back but as a cartoon. I was so pleased when it came out on DVD although Grant's voice sounds really out of place, like he wasn't in the room with the other characters or that it was dubbed over.

Capaldi could have done Scream of the Shalka in his final season, previous companion lost, Master as a companion, Bill could have been Alison, it wouldn't have needed much tweaking.
