Weird, they all look upright/portrait to me, and I'm on desktop.
A mixed-up non-conformist, trying to fit in.

Weird indeed!
I'm on a laptop-
Maybe it's my computer that's at fault?

Quote from: Volpone on Oct 09, 2020, 06:10 amI should remember this thread for the "what color of blue should I use" posts.  Because it illustrates the challenges of blue so well.  Half the photos are a perfect TARDIS blue and half the photos it looks almost toothpaste green.   Blue changes so much, depending on the lighting.

That, and that everyone's screens are invariably slightly different.
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

Looking fine for me too.  It could be the browser or the OS too (or something I'm not even thinking of).  In some ways, I miss the old days of computers with 64K or RAM, no hard drive, and a 256K floppy for memory.  Because you could pretty much understand everything that was going on.  Modern computers with dedicated broadband network connections do so much stuff in the background that it's almost impossible to know what's going on.

I think we've established that it's my ancient, wind up computer that's at fault...
So I'll keep quiet!  ;D

Reminds me of what the Master said about the Doctors TARDIS:

"Overweight, underpowered...might as well try to use a second-hand gas stove....."

 :o    ::)    ;D

Cheers!

All the same I'm sorry you have to crane your neck sideways to look at my build. Hopefully these pictures will be right side up! I went out to the shop to clamp some bits for the roof and then I thought it might be nice to pop in one of the signs to see how it looked and then I figured I might as well to do all four signs, and maybe the windows as well and...

...here's the result.

Oooh.  Magnificent TARDIS Blue.

And at last I've finished, and just in time for Halloween!

A few trick-or-treaters recognized the TARDIS, I sat inside dressed as a Silence ready to pop out and scare anyone who dared to open the door! It was a great night, and everyone seemed very excited to stumble upon a TARDIS unexpectedly.

Hope you guys have enjoyed the build. There are still some details to add, mostly on the inside of the box, but that will likely have to wait until next year and warmer weather. Allons-y!

Happy Halloween!

Great work,

Yup.  To say this is a nice build is an understatement.  It looks more screen accurate (and as pretty) as the boxes in 99.5% of the BBC publicity shots.

Thanks very much!

Pulled the box out of winter storage for the first time yesterday. The box was only assembled for an hour or so for a quick video which I'll post later. In the meantime here's a couple of pics I took on my phone.

I fitted the back wall with a green screen for vfx.

The lamp had become detached from the baseboard, so I fixed that with some wood glue.

My ride vs my brother's. I think mine's cooler.

There's no thinking about it. It is cooler than your brother's ride!
Oh my giddy aunt!!

The color and texture are magnificent.  I mean, the whole build is.  But the blue you've got is what hits me first.
