Yeah, it's not ideal ... but it is what it is. Hopefully I can get another job soonish and then it's all good.

It was probably way past time I moved on anyway.

Good luck.

They think it's all over ...

REMEMBRANCE OF THE INVASION (PART FOUR)

Was that just clever editing or did Jodie Whittaker actually share a few seconds of footage with you?!  After all, she did say the name "Alice"!  Again, with the "signal" being "choppy", it would not be impossible to splice some dialogue, but the audio flowed rather smoothly.  I can imagine Whittaker doing something like that.  I mean, even Eccleston has dropped by, in person, to wish somebody a happy birthday or a wedding engagement "in character".  Whittaker strikes me as the kind of person who would immediately say, "Sure!  Why not?"

But, if it was "just" editing of existing footage and audio taken out of context, you still managed a 'bang up" job!

Sincerely,

Bill

Great episode with a very clever Jodie Whittaker cameo.
Her acting was almost as good as mine!

I tried to edit voice clips but it sounded awful, so that's a friend doing a vague impersonation over footage taken from one of her lockdown announcements. Helpfully, she did it in front of a green background!

The mouth movements don't sync up so the static is there to hide it a bit. Hopefully Jodie won't mind!😬

Glad it worked well enough to confuse though!

Cheers Russell. Your cameo have me the idea ... but you're still my favourite Timelord!

russellsuthern

I'm blushing!

Aww...the illusion has been shattered.  I thought (read: hoped) Whittaker had learned of your series and found it endearing enough to reach out and arrange a wee "deal", a surprise cameo, one recorded at her home during this crazy lockdown.  I mean, who wouldn't want to help out your daughter?  (There's a NOT impossible dream, years down the line Alice landing the role as the Doctor, officially!)

Obviously I don't have an "ear" for Sheffield accents because I genuinely wondered!

And I'm certain Whittaker will take it as the flattery that you intended!

Sincerely,

Bill

That would have been lovely! But sadly we have very few viewers and I doubt she's one!

This was a Rochdale accent masquerading as Jodie's. She'll be chuffed she fooled someone!

Well, keep in mind I'm a "bloody Yank" who's lived nearly 52 of his nearly 58 years in Georgia (the other 7 in Alabama).  As such, I certainly don't have the "ear" for discerning most of the regional accents you no doubt could determine after hearing 4 or 5 words.  So fooling me is an embarrassingly simple task.

Sincerely,

Bill

Most British people (particularly English people in the South) would struggle to tell the difference too!

England is finally following the rest of the UK into a second lockdown, so we made this for anyone who needs a tiny sliver of Doctor Who-themed kindness:

Angelus Lupus

...wow! I don't know if it's the hug at the end, Murray Gold's music, my own mood being all over the place right now, or a combination of the above - but that was genuinely moving!
A mixed-up non-conformist, trying to fit in.

Agreed-
Good work!
