The end is almost nigh..

Today glued the wood pellets in, filling the screw holes in the mirror frame.

Then cut them off with a chisel and touched up with a bit of Osmo Oil.

And today's journey of Police Box research..

Went to Beaumont Park near Huddersfield and popped to see the box in Almondsbury on the way!

If the kids don't look too amused, its because they were rudely awoken when we arrived!

And there's a Tardis bird feeder on the tree next to it!

My Police Box isn't very likely to rot...

But it does get very dusty!

Possibly a final update..

But first.. we visited Sheffield today!   Not seen this one in donkey's years.

And the Oak Tardis has become a proper Time Cabinet now.. with shelves and..  Tardises!

The 13th Doctor Tardis was squeezed in at the end after its trip to meet a bit bigger one last week.

I've had a Doctor Who liking US pen-pal since the mid-eighties.   Though to be honest I can't remember the last time we used an actual pen to communicate!

Until the virus outbreak her daughter was at university in the UK - and my old pal and her husband were due to visit and do a tour of the country around this Easter time.

Instead, they've spent their isolation photoshopping themselves into pics of touristy places they were likely to visit!

She said they would have liked to visit here again and see our new box.   So last night we had a tidy up and took some pics.  And while she was editing her family in, I suggested she upscale my 84% scale Police Box to 100%!

I just realised today that its been a year since I began this!

Well.. a year and a few days now to be technical..

In celebration I shall compose a poem..

Ode to my Police Box..
One year ago you were bits of a tree..
Now you are a Tardis..
Belonging to.. Me.. ;D

And a pic of her first thing in a morning (My you are looking radiant my dear... ;D)

Stay Safe and don't forget to wash your hands before you stroke your Tardis', Consoles and K-9s!

Lick the handles.  You know you want to.  I won't tell.

DISASTER!

Luckily though its not wet rot, dry rot, fungal infections, deathwatch beetle or other types of woodworm..

The internal bulb has blown!     I thought energy saving bulbs were supposed to last for thousands of hours!

Well, it depends on your reference point for measuring that time - internal and external continua may not always be chronologically consistent due to the inherently variable nature of the higher-dimensional engineering involved in maintaining internal volumes incongruent to outside geometry.  ;D

You turd. I was worried that something terrible had happened.  Don't do that to me.  I'm at an age where I've seen all they unexpected ways things can go sideways and just worry all the time. ;)

Good to hear it's just a lightbulb.

MAJOR UPDATE!

The temporal illuminating elements have been replaced. (I bought a new bulb!)

Hey.. I dont have much to say about this anymore.. so I have to milk it now and again!

I ended up buying the same dimmable, low energy bulb.  The box says 15,000 hours life..  I'm pretty sure I didn't get that in the 7 or 8 months it was on in evenings!

Looks like its getting dusty again..  may have to give it a polish tomorrow before I have to do a MAJOR DUST BUILD UP UPDATE!

Cheers

Feel free to milk it as much as you like! I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't mind the excuse to look at this lovely build again!

The mirror illusion still amazes. Never gets old.

With the nights drawing in - and with working late recently - I came home after a long slog to find my lovely lady beaming out the window at me!

Accidentally seeing a TARDIS is always cool.  Accidentally seeing a TARDIS and remembering it is yours never gets old.

My Tardis isn't likely to get very snowy by itself, so when it did snow a little bit here I opened the window!
