It's Friday!

The first part of the finale!

Arriving back in 2020 we find an Eastbourne which is unrecognisable. Our house has been burnt down, the residents are living in fear ... and strangest of all there's a honking great mountain in the centre of town.

Who or what is responsible? Watch on to find out!

I won't post any spoilers, but the end made me laugh!

(Although the title was a big clue, so I shoulda guessed, really....)

My daughter's idea a few years ago (when she was 9). I was initially resistant on the grounds it's stupid ... and then realised, stupid is what we do. 😁

A "season" finale/cliffhanger?  Argh!  When do you plan to continue the production?  You can't leave us in the lurch right this!

Nah, seriously, I realize it likely consumes a LOT of time and eventually "real life" has to take priority.  Still, it seems you and your daughter have enjoyed a rollicking fun time, keeping busy during this Covid weirdness.

Personally, I rather like the use of the Mondasian style Cyberman for your Cyleks rather than a more recent design.  It's funny, as I am a bloody Yank who did not get to experience Doctor Who until 1982 via PBS broadcasts, I used to turn up my nose at their 1966 look.  My favorite was the "EarthShock" concept (which was still the "latest" in the mid 80s.  I held this opinion until 2006 when there was "buzz" that the Cybermen would return.  There was some thread at OutPost Gallifrey discussing this and I expressed my views.  A posting member (sorry, I can't remember whom) patiently replied, "Okay, I can understand your preference, but might you consider these two words...'surgical gauze'."  Like the polarity of neutron flow, my thoughts about the Mondasian construction instantly flipped!  I no longer saw the head covering as a "ski mask", but rather as wrapped bandages, a last ditch effort by a nearly parallel society only slightly more advanced than we are, desperately doing what it can to save the last dying members of its population.  I imagined a patient in an operating theater, his circulatory and respiratory systems bypassed, linked to a compact, almost portable array resting upon a nearly table, a heart/lung machine.  His face wrapped in bandages, his body sealed within a bodysuit meant to chill and thus slow his metabolism, a "cap" is positioned upon his head that inhibits pain receptors and dulls emotional response, an alternative to gaseous deep anesthesia.  Suddenly, the patient strains to an upright position, "awake" and climbs from the table.  He seizes the compact bypass unit which is internal powered, clutching it to his chest as he staggers from the operating room, the medical staff too shocked to attempt restraining him!  Basically, I finally recognized the intended "body horror" Kitt Pedler meant to convey with his original concept.  From that moment of "enlightenment", the original Mondasian 1966 design became my favorite iteration of the Cybermen and I believed that only with the slightest tweaking, they could work in a modern broadcast...which we finally experienced with peter Capaldi.

Okay, sorry about that.  Just a longwinded manner of saying I liked your design choice, even if it was more from necessity rather than preference.

We originally built ours for a World Enough and Time story ... but that changed at the last minute into a Tenth Planet thing.

It's definitely the easiest one to build though!

As for season finale ... we're not quite there yet!

The end is near, but the moment has been prepared for.

Loved the martial arts & the swords.

Loved the "Battlefield" reference-

& a great cliffhanger ending!!

I've done 32 episodes of this now, with 14 Extra discussion-type episodes in between. It's taking up all of my time and has to stop at some point!

On a serious note:

I know time is an issue & things always seem to be getting in the way, but that doesn't mean you have to stop.

I get the feeling that you, a bit like myself, have an "all or nothing" approach, but there's nothing wrong with slowing down a bit.

Sometimes I have loads of time to do my cosplay stuff, sometimes no time as all, but I just fit it in where I can, round the edges.

You don't have to do an episode every week. Even one a month will soon build up.

That way you still get to have fun without stressing yourself about getting stuff done!

I made a commitment to myself over the Summer that I would stick to this schedule ... and I have!

I know I shouldn't be pleased with myself, but I am.

Having said that, it's time to back burner fun and concentrate on rebuilding some semblance of normality. I got made redundant a month ago and really need to figure something out.

But yes, you're right - it doesn't have to be a weekly thing it was just something I wanted to try for a while.
