I can't believe I missed this thread before. I'd love to know how the arduino works? I've been tripping over my K9 for years now threatening to get it motorised...

Andy, I've been so tempted to rename the thread accordingly too! But given how involved I've been, discussing dimensions and procedures on how I was going to approach everything.. its sort of a half and half build.

The ardunio is just another dumb computer that needs to be told what to do really! Its that simple, haha.

There are alot of resources online that explain ardunio at various levels, so I would recommend any that you find. I think the biggest conumdrum is finding the parts that would be compatible with it. Its only a 5v board, so you would need various other parts (MOSFETs) to change voltage etc etc, you know the drill.

I've promised kit-kat a list of what dad has picked up to motoroise K9, so I'll publish it here when said list is ready...

In the meantime, I am 3d printing linkages and motor chassises for the ears etc..

K9 is in the house but I'll wait till he's more complete before sharing.

So in the meantime, here is the side panel logo. 3d printed. Painted in grey primer, almost tempted to leave the primer. I think it looks ok as is.



K9 nerds will notice I used the School Reunion screw arrangement. I may reprint with the original prop layout... Who's nose.

Bumpers added - undecided if I paint this to be darker or not.

You'll have to use a compatible paint.

I tried to paint my bumpers black, but the paint just flaked off.
Very frustrating, so I ended up just leaving them light grey.

Can you get that kind of foam tubing in black?
