Hello all! My names Tom i'm a student atm, i've had my console for about 2 years now and recentely i have renovated it! I'm not massively experienced with wood working so i have taken a easier route, my main console is a half scale replica of the hartnell console (i mean the basic shape) It does not have the panel dividers but has the correct base and top bit, it's slightly bigger than half size though, i made it this scale as it's still fairly large and can fit in my bedroom. My time rotor i have managed to buy of Luke Newman AKA DW2012 at the time he was renovating his console, (the rotor i have was last used in his fan film episode, fall of the doctor) I have LED Strips running through this and have the opportunity to wire up a spinning atom accelerator in the centre. To make the panel surrounds and create the indents which i have done recentely, i have brought 5mm thick foam board and have attached cut and filled pieces around the panels to create borders, (like i said i'm not experienced in wood working so this was easy and effective) I then masked the borders which i have sprayed metalic, and have made the panel indents black which contrasts nicely. The controls are still a WIP. The base also has strip lights shining down on it. Currently i am making funky type instruments around the rotor platform in the aim to make a Whittaker console vibe! Atm all i have added is a modified cheap VR headset which acts like microscope goggles etc. It's still a heavy WIP but am very happy with it so far, especially for my age and with no help from adults. I'm slowly soldering together lights etc so my Bedroom is a bit messy and like a workshop lol, If anyone has any ideas of things to add that'd be great! And as i'm moving house soon i hope to build my own console room! Hope you all like it and i'll create this thread for any updates! Thanks for looking and stay Safe!
