Hi, I'm just starting work on my Newbery Tardis model and have a question.

On the original plans that the BBC used for this prop there is a light box fitted behind the windows. Do any of you know if the prop had these and the widows were ever backlit?

I don't remember seeing them backlit in the original series, but I may be wrong.

Thanks
Dave

They weren't backlit. In fact, I remember somebody commenting that the windows were fitted with boards behind them to avoid light shining out of them.

About BBC plans, never trust them. In the end the builders did whatever they wanted and they only bear a passing resemblance to the plans. And in the particular case of lighting, that was not up to the builders, it was up to the lighting department, which never got that memo or if they did they decided to conveniently ignore it.
Oh my giddy aunt!!
