Apologies if this is the wrong section, but I found these snaps on Getty Images of a police box replica (well, an attempted replica anyway) in a sketch for The Illustrated Weekly Hudd.

The Illustrated Weekly Hudd also stole the Brachacki TARDIS for a week, but that has been covered in this thread: https://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=10044.0
Oh my giddy aunt!!

Angelus Lupus

Hmm, from the size of it - one door, not very tall - it looks like a wardrobe with some modifications? Or, if the windows were already cut out, maybe the walls are made out of existing doors, and the corner posts and moulding has been added?
A mixed-up non-conformist, trying to fit in.

Looks like the prop from Gideon of Scotland Yard/ Gideon's Day. But that's just from memory as I can't find a pic of it just now.

Wow, it is. We even have a thread for that appearance as well:
https://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=3715.0 I don't know how I missed it.

Looking at that threat, I'm surprised to see the box had been around since 1958, which means this prop lasted at least eight years before appearing on the Illustrated Weekly Hudd without anybody destroying out of the sheer unlikeliness to what's supposed to be. I would have thought they'd have scrapped it shortly afterwards. Or at least to have been reused as a shed somewhere else and have its signage removed.

I quite like that box..  Not exactly sure why though!    Maybe the skirting and cornice and how it fits around the posts.    And possibly the panels in the single door.

The windows are like the Tardis on some 60's painting books and the 1965 Annual. [I would upload pics to illustrate - but have no idea how to!]

If I had nothing better to do, I'd make one of these!

It's not an unpleasant box at all, but it does cause a short circuit to know this is an attempt at imitating a metbox.
