So I have joined the new k-9 building squad lol!

Something I recently noticed about the k9 plans I'm using is the struts or his "legs" are far to thick than how they seem on the actual prop. So I have shortened the leg width from what was around 7-8 cm to about 5.5cm and it seems alot better. This will have probably been a bad decision as it'll cause some screw up in future but I like making things difficult for myself lol.
;D

Welcome to the gestalt!!

Looks like you are off to a good start.

It's your build, so you can have his legs as thin or fat as you like.  :)

It shouldn't effect your progress as you go along.

I actually made a bit of an error with my measurements, so my K-9's legs are thicker from the side view than from the front!

Oh well, doesn't look too bad & does give him some individuality!

Looking forward to seeing future progress-  Us dog lovers gotta stick together!!

Regards,

Russell

Thanks Russell!
Yeah hopefully it all goes to plan, I'm happy with how the measurements have turned out,
And I think your k9 looks really damn great, it would be so cool when this is all over to roll up to a convention with multiple k9s lol!

Yeah we totally do, although it depends if my actual dog will love her mechanical counter part

Your dog looks uber-cute!!

I know the Dalek guys have a event where they try to get the most ever Daleks together in one place. Maybe the same thing could be done with K-9's?

Would be a great, fun event!  :)

Cheers,

Russ

here is k9 currently, I have finished all the panels on his body and soon will stick them all together, I just need to create his base in a way that will allow me to put electronics on it.IMG_20200710_223639.jpg

Here are both the viewer screen and the tail. I made the screen by cutting out a square in the wood and bending a strip of mount board around it. Then I went over the edge with milliput and alot of filler and sanded until it was smooth. The tail is a rubber boot rack gaiterIMG_20200720_145246_915~2.jpgIMG_20200720_145315_309~2.jpg

Hiya k9 builders I was wondering if I have printed this head template of a little too big, I was wondering if you could tell me the correct length of the line my ruler is against? Thanks! IMG_20200801_141012_729.jpg

Hi Kat-Kat.

That bit should be 16 cms long.

Hope that helps.
