BORED!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a bit of free time (what with the whole lockdown) so I thought I would have a play with my TARDISes and see if I could get some decent foreground model photo's.

Granted, most of them look the same; however there's only so many ways you can photograph something that looks more or less the same from each side :D

They are truly amazing.

Thanks! I scratch build them as well. THey are all cast in resin, and it takes a lot of sanding to get the shape right

Ooh, really like that!  Suddenly thinking that original shot of the TARDIS coming towards the camera head on might work in an updated Season 12 titles :D

OK, so yesterday I had a hangover you could see from Uranus (thanks to a socially distant visit from the neighbours in the garden on Friday evening. Involving booze - lots of booze...) so rather than do the 47 other more important things I have to do around the House I thought I would have a practice at colour grading my video's, using some footage I had left over from my first attempt at green screen work using one of my 7th scale models.

The original footage is very variable (I've since splashed out on more appropriate lighting equipment, and a better camera), but I'm quite pleased with the end result...

Yep! its repetitive; but this was really just to practice the mystical art of colour-grading.

However who doesn't get bored with seeing a TARDIS spin through space..?

The shots over the moon are my favourite...

Amazing! Smooth motion and top-notch compositing - just goes to show what can be done when your model has all the scale-accurate detail!
Far better quality than any classic Who FX shots, unless you count the modelwork in the McGann movie. Heck, it might even give some of the early (New Who) CGI shots a run for their money!

Thanks, thats very good of you to say. But if i'm honest the compositing could be better; however the TARDIS was filmed on my iPhone, the lighting wasn't set up right, and the green backdrop was a very cheap plastic material which was creased to hell.

I've since bought a decent (but surprisingly cheap) backdrop, and I have a decent camera coming for my 50th next month (yep - I'm knocking on...)

Much googling has been done on lighting techniques as well...

I'm kind of getting into this a bit now ;)
