I can't find any mate, I haven't checked the K9 Builders Facebook group yet.

Do you have the remote control K9 you could measure and scale up the ears?

My wife wants a puppy. I keep offering her a K9 instead but apparently it's not the same.

Looking forward to see how you get on with this,  Russell!

If it's any help, the ears on mine are 60mm wide and 45mm high and the tail is 30cm from the back to the base of the ring, which I used a large eye hook, which takes it to 33cm

Hope that's of some use

Thanks guys, for your comments & advice.
Thanks for those measurements, Biodoc, I'll give them a go.

Dave:  I did used to have a RC K-9, but I sold it on a while ago. >:(

Phil:  I'm in exactly the same boat. My missus wants another dog & I think K-9 just ain't going to cut it.... :-[

Anyway, slow progress is being made.
Here's another pic...

(Thanks for your help, Steve...)

One part of the build that I really love is when it starts to look recognizable.

I love it when people stop saying, "What are you building?" & start saying, "are you building a -fill in the blank-?"

Of course, there's no one around to eyeball my efforts at the moment, but I'n happy because It's starting to look like a K-9 to me!"

I glued my four panels together & this is the result:

Happy days....

"Affirmative, Master!"

You've spelt K-9 wrong!

(Always glad to be of help!)

Ian   :)

I KNEW there was something wrong.... ;D

Cardinal Hordriss

You should put some things in him like a Doctor Who time capsule.
I speak to you from the final days of Gallifrey. I am the past you have forgotten. You are the future I will not live to see...

Like Lalla Ward, I hope she survives forever.

Looking absolutely excellent Russ! Keep up the good work and I hope you're giving him plenty of treats!
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Volpone

My inclination, if I ever did a K9 is to go totally non-canon and use a Sony Aibo or the Boston Dynamics Big Dog as a base.  Of course that was before I saw what an Aibo costs--and I don't even want to know what the Big Dog would set you back.

Anywho, there's something, like when you see the beat-up old altered Barachaki, about K9, when you see the shapes coming together, but warms a spot in my heart for it.

Lucky for you Tom Baker didn't have Kamelion.
"My dear Litefoot, I've got a lantern and a pair of waders, and possibly the most fearsome piece of hand artillery in all England. What could possibly go wrong?"

Cardinal:  I could use him like a mobile safe to hide all my valuables- such as bog roll & face masks... ::)

Rich:  Yes, as soon as he gets a head I'll make sure he gets a hand full of nuts & bolts every day!  :D

David:  Ahh, Lalla...  I love Lalla.  SPOILER ALERT.. I already have a blonde wig ready for my cosplay thread.... :o

Volp:  You are so right. I only need to see any old series prop & the nostalgia hit kicks in  :).
How can anyone not love K-9. ??!!

On a side note, re: the original series. I'm still watching "Monster of Peladon".
A certain Hermaphrodite Hexapod shuffles in & my wife exclaims, "Oh! I know that one! That's Arthur Centurion!!"
I couldn't stop laughing for ages... I SO wish he'd been called Arthur Centurion!!

Thanks!... No pressure... ;)

I added the final panels today, including the back.
It was a bit trickier getting everything to fit together nicely than I thought it was going to, but I got there in the end.

Will need some filler to hide some minor gaps.

Starting on the head tomorrow.

How are you attaching the pieces together?  You mentioned glue but there's precious little surface if it's just end-on hardboard sheets meeting at an angle, so I'm wondering what the joins look like on the inside.  Although the exciting angles on the recesses on the panels should mean the glue is on the outside there in the acute angle...

Basically I'm confused  :)
