Hi everyone,

Hope your all doing ok in this very strange time!

Just a update on my build, have finished painting the fixed LHS door, and have started texturing the RHS (not shown in the photo but it's now undercoated and textured and had 1 coat of blue topcoat)
Also have made a start on the roof, still got 3 windows left to make and I still haven't finished the last corner post but you can't see it when you walk in the kitchen so want to get the doors done and the roof on, when it's about there I'll go over the whole thing and finish all the bits off.

Also half way through the Horns of nimon, fancied a newbery box story and Graham Crowden is wonderfully over the top.

Keep well everyone.C5FC69E6-815E-4898-B54A-1F68DE77EE42.jpeg[attachid]24E83100-A31D-4151-A486-2CB44B8D49F5.jpeg[/attach]7186723D-EEBA-4223-A6E9-8CD4CBC0FA7A.jpegDAD34EC6-606C-46FA-BA80-D86C518BBE32.jpeg

Many thanks for the nice comments everyone, I'm really enjoying building it, (also judging by the recent posts on here there's goner be a lot more Tardis's by the end off this lockdown!)
Little update, on with the roof now, going to make two versions of the lamp so I can switch between original and shada style lamps, although if you check the picture out you might notice the shada one has met with a sticky end. More Tardises is always a good thing. :)
My local timber merchant is closed for the duration, but I'm hoping I'm not going to run out of anything essential.

Loving the progress on this build, just caught up with it. So nice to see more Newberys out there. All looks like it's going well for you, can't wait to see it finished :)
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Hi everyone,

Just a bit of an update as to where I am with my build. I've started finishing off the roof and lamp assembly, it needs a bit of fettling but about there, the idea is to get the roof ready to go on at the same time as the two front windows so you get the full affect in one go. That doesn't mean it's finished, loads to do yet but it will be the first time it's complete if you know what I mean.
As for the lamp I've gone and bought a Philips hue warm white bayonet lamp that works on Bluetooth, you can make it flash and dim it and make it come on automatically etc, looks quite cool!
Anyway hope everyone's enjoying the weather as best they can!

Cheers.

Hi everyone, so pleased Tardis builders is alive and well! Hope your all doing ok in this weird sci fi movie we all seem to be living in!! I'm half expecting Bobby Ewing to walk out the shower!
Anyway, I've been reasonably busy on my newbery build since Tardis builders disappeared for a bit, basically the Tardis looks finished but it's still held together temporarily in places whilst I work through the whole thing tidying bits up and fitting captive screws everywhere so it can be easily dismantled.
I've also installed a Philips hue Bluetooth lamp which does look quite affective.
The next plan is to go over the interior to make it ready for painting black, I've also had some frosted Perspex cut which will screw over the windows inside to make them look a bit nicer.
All the sign boxes are just about fettled, have been over them again and dirtied them down a bit more and then covered the police public call box bit with a satin varnish.
The next main thing is the door sign, I want it to look as close to screen accurate as I can but not to sure how I'm going to do it yet.
Anyway here are some pictures!

Ok so slight problem, my pictures are in jpeg form and I can't upload them.
Does anyone know how I can upload them?
Many thanks.

What is it doing?  Is it giving you an error message or what?  I tried having a look at your profile to see if maybe some box wasn't checked, but apparently that's outside of moderator powers (or i just don't know how to do it).  I was going to ask you to take some screencaps of what you get when you try to upload images but then I saw the flaw in this plan:  "I can't upload images."  "Could you upload an image of what you see when you try to upload an image?"
"My dear Litefoot, I've got a lantern and a pair of waders, and possibly the most fearsome piece of hand artillery in all England. What could possibly go wrong?"

Currently the forum only allows jpgs and pngs as attachments, not jpegs. Moonbeam, if you've got access to any kind of photo editor (paint dot net is the one I tend to use), you can re-export your images in one of the site's preferred image types (though the current 500kb limit is a bit rough).
