I started off with a 3" Christmas ornament, covered it in tape.
When measuring with the compass, start with 36.4mm to space the circle.  34.4mm to make the inner circle.
two measurements for the spacer triangle 39.2mm  41.5mm

I finish up marking my individual circle spaces.

I removed the tape to the sphere & put on a new layer. I had the tape sticky side up then another layer sticky side down. I realized if I started cutting into the tape the individual pieces would fall off. So I made another layer with the sticky side down.
I did remember to measure all the drawings I made on the last tape cover before I tore it off.
Also, I need to find my other dremel engraving bits before I continue. I can do the straight lines on the sphere with a cutting disk, but I'm not  able to make curve lines like the professionals,...Yet.
Anyway, hears what I've done so far.  ;D

Quick Thought?... You think I should leave the tape on, give it more depth? I could just color the tape instead of the plastic ball.  ???

It is not easy to cut very small circles with a drimal disc.

I decided to remove the tape & paint the individual sections. THOUGHT: Using tape is very sticky when cut, I should have used paper mache to get more of a line gap. That & I could have gotten a less of a messy line when cutting.

There are some holes in the sphere, but thy can be patched up with some clear glue.

It came out better then I thought. There are some lines I have to drimal again, otherwise, good. ;D

Time to sand.

You think I should have started with a black paint? I'm not to clear on how too paint something so the light wont shine or bleed threw the paint.
I'm painting the orb & using a sharp file to scrape out the excess paint in the lines.

It's not quite finished yet, needs more coloring & I like to make a LED light inside.
